Don't think your ears are ringing

West Chester University wants residents to know that it will be conducting a test of its external emergency notification system on Friday morning.

West Chester University wants residents to know that there's nothing wrong with their hearing if they hear a series of short, alert tones on Friday morning, a test of the university's external emergency notification system.

Between 10 and 10:15 a.m., the university will broadcast the tones as well as voice instruction to advise people that testing is occurring. The test is needed to ensure that the notification system can be heard across the campus, making it likely that people in adjacent neighborhoods will also hear the broadcast.
