Mushroom mania will take over Kennett Square this weekend: The spores will be touted, painted, cooked, displayed, even mixed into ice cream during the 26th annual festival.

Among the highlights of this year's event will be appearances by celebrity chefs Jose Garces and Kevin Sbraga, a mushroom soup cook-off, an antique car show, children's entertainment, and a community parade.

The festival will run Friday from 6 to 11 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wristband admission is $2 for anyone over 12, and $5 parking includes a shuttle to the street fair. Proceeds benefit local nonprofit organizations. For more information, visit  www.mushroomfestival.org.
