Unionville alums rally to assist former classmate

Former classmates are rallying to raise funds for Jesse Picard, a 2007 Unionville High grad and standout wrestler who sustained a spinal cord injury in a May traffic accident.

A 2007 Unionville High graduate was three credits shy of a double degree in religious studies and biology from Rutgers University when he was paralyzed from the neck down in a May traffic accident.

Now former classmates are rallying to raise funds for the aspiring doctor, who  spent several weeks last summer in Africa, where he participated in the Doctors Without Borders program.

His future was altered the afternoon of May 13, and he is currently in a rehab facility in New Jersey that will end shortly and he will be seeking additional therapy.   For more information on how to help, visit http://www.jessesjourneythefirststep.com/.
