Hark: Student drama hither
More than 600 students from 25 Chester County schools will unleash their inner-Bard during a three-day Shakespeare festival at Immaculata University.
Sponsored by the Chester County Intermediate Unit, a three-day Shakespeare festival will give dramatic license to over 600 students from 25 county schools. Elementary, middle and high-school students will perform 25-minute adaptations of the Bard's work on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Mary Curley, a CCIU spokeswoman, stressed that the emphasis is on fostering enthusiasm, not competition; however, some awards will be given for outstanding efforts, such as "scene-stealing" and "grand gestures." The public may watch the performances live on Thursday on CCiTV at http://ccitv.cciu.org.
