Another top administrator to leave Bryn Mawr
Bryn Mawr's dean of admissions and enrollment management has accepted a position at The George Washington University.
Another top administrator is leaving Bryn Mawr College.
Laurie Koehler, dean of admissions and interim dean of enrollment, will become senior associate provost for enrollment management at The George Washington University, Bryn Mawr announced.
Earlier this month, the college's board of trustees announced that Bryn Mawr President Jane McAuliffe would step down June 30. Her five-year tenure is the shortest in the selective women college's history. Neither McAuliffe or the college have elaborated on the reasons for her departure.
There have been other high-profile administrative departures this academic year. Jenny Rickard, chief enrollment and communications officer, left in the fall. Elliott Shore, the chief information officer, also departed in the fall. And Donna Frithsen, who had been serving as a senior fund-raising adviser, left this winter to become associate vice president for advancement for Drexel's College of Medicine.
"Laurie is a well-known leader in her field, presenting at national conferences and serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the Common Application for the past four years, and was actively sought by GW for this newly-created role," McAuliffe said in a message to the Bryn Mawr community.
Chuck Rickard will become interim dean of enrollment, McAuliffe said, and Peaches Valdes, senior associate director of admissions, will become director of admissions. Koehler departs May 31.
