Medford Schools Superintendent Charged With DUI

Medford Schools Superintendent Joseph Del Rossi was arrested on DUI charges after he flipped a district-owned Jeep last week.  His hearing is set for next month in Evesham Municipal Court.

Meanwhile, town officials and residents are reeling over the news.  The quiet, lake-filled township in the Pinelands has had quite a year.

Three months ago, the ex-mayor was besmirched in a sex scandal, and before that, a councilwoman was ousted as  details of her personal, nasty divorce were publicly aired.

Community officials also have wrestled with severe budget problems, police layoffs and a controversial land deal.

School Board President Michael Etter says the board likely will examine the DUI charges and Del Rossi's use of the Jeep at a closed session on Wednesday.  He declined comment on the incident.
