Burn victims rushed to trauma center after chemical explosion

Two people suffered burns from an industrial accident involving nitric acid this morning in Falls Township, Bucks County, at a company that makes dental implants.

Their injuries do not appear to be life threatening, according to Mike McClellan, chief of Falls Township and U.S. Steel fire companies, which responded.

The burn victims, who work for Hiossen Inc. on Ben Fairless Drive, were taken to Helene Fuld Medical Center in Trenton.

The accident remains under investigation. The workers were mixing chemicals into a five gallon pale when it exploded, McClellan said.
