Learn how to dig for family roots at 6th annual Ancestry Fair
Experts will provide tips for researching family trees at the 6th annual Ancestry Fair on Saturday at the county Visitors Center in Bensalem.
Beginners and those looking to improve their research skills to trace their family trees can get tips at the 6th annual Ancestry Fair, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, at the Bucks County Visitor Center in Bensalem.
Karen Higgins of West Chester, who has researched personal genealogy for more than 25 years, will discuss "Beginning Genealogy" from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
"Using FamilySearch online and using a local Family History Center" will be presented by members of the Doylestown, Morrisville and Philadelphia Metro Family History Centers of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
There also will be representatives of genealogical associations, booksellers and vendors to answer questions.
The fair, sponsored by the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania and Visit Bucks County, is free and open to the public at the Visitors Center on Street Road, in front of Parx Casino.
In addition, genealogist, blogger and author Dick Eastman will discuss four topics throughout the day, for a $45 fee for society members and $55 for non-members. Pre-registration is recommended, with Saturday signups available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Genealogy searching on Google
Organizing your research using digital techniques
Using Wikis to publish your family history online
Using satellite technology to help find cemeteries, roads, and courthouses.
