Welcome to Bucks County - Will You Marry Me?

Today is already a big day for Mayur Patel of Bristol and Anjali Naik of Lima, Ohio – they're closing on a house in Bensalem.

But Mayur decided to top it off by proposing to Anjali first, and he popped the question with the help of one of his new neighbors – the Bucks County Visitors Center on Street Road in front of Parx Casino.

It seems that Anjali loves postcards and collects them from all the places she visits, says Jessica Lawlor, marketing and communications coordinator for the county's tourism bureau. So Mayur thought the postcard rack in the Visitor Center's gift shop would be the perfect place to pop the question.

Mayur worked with the center's staff to hide a postcard with a special message on the rack for Anjali to discover. Once Anjali found the postcard and read it, Mayur dropped down on one knee and proposed.

After saying, "Yes," Anjali acknowledged she had been completely surprised.

Lawlor didn't read the postcard – that was personal, she says – but did notice that Mayur, who works for Aetna, had filled it with his message.

The front of the postcard was a scene from Zambia, where Anjali was born.

"Even though she was born there and lived there, she does not have a Zambia postcard in her collection and has always wanted one," Lawlor said. "Mayur thought it would be a great idea to hide this postcard within the Bucks County postcards so that it would stick out and grab her attention."

Lawlor managed to discreetly capture the proposal by photographing it with her iPhone, and later the happy couple gladly posed for photos by the postcard stand.

Then it was off to become Bucks County homeowners.

Talk about a red-letter day.
