Market Day draws crafters, artists and visitors to Newtown
35th annual event recalls tradition of farmers selling their crops and enjoy a day of festivities and contests.
The rain held off long enough Saturday for attendees at the 35th Annual Market Days in Newtown Borough to browse booths selling jewelry, art and craftwork, watch demonstrations of colonial chores and binge on homemade and restaurant-cooked food.
Children tried their hand at making candles, learned about cooking over a fire and watched colonial soldiers fire their weapons.
