The Mets' Bartolo Colon (42 years, 99 days old Monday) came within three outs of becoming the oldest pitcher to throw a shutout against the Phillies since at least 1914. As it is, he is the second oldest to hold them scoreless in an outing that lasted eight innings or more over that span. A total of 10 pitchers have done that:
