Single Digits (Aug. 3, 2015)

A handful of quick-hitting one-liners:

♦ Saturday night, Cole Hamels threw a pitch for a team other than the Phillies, which re-established Larry Christenson as the Phils pitcher with the most starts who never appeared for another major league club. Hamels (who was dealt after 294 starts here) had been atop that list since May 20, 2013, when he passed LC's total of 220. Click HERE to see that list (and some others like it) as it stood in late June.

♦ When Ben Revere became a Phillie in December, 2012, he had nary a home run to show on his major-league resume, which to that point had included 1,064 plate appearances ... and not many prospects of any four-play swats on the horizon. But he did manage to jack three in 1,350 PA over 2 1/2 seasons covering 335 games as a Phillie, two of them at Citizens Bank Park.

♦ Only two left-handed Phillies relief pitchers have struck out at least 100 batters in a season: Al Holland, 1983 (100 K in 91.2 IP) and Jake Diekman, 2014 (100 K in 71 IP). Holland went to the All-Star Game the following season; Diekman went to Texas.
