Eye Openers: Polanco's Drop; Roy On The Road

♦ Phillies’ Placido Polanco is 40-168 (.238) since May 1. His average has gone from .398 to .299 in that time.

♦ Roy Oswalt has a 2.42 ERA in 13 regular-season road starts for the Phillies. And a 4-4 record to show for it.

♦ Royals’ Eric Hosmer is hitting .365 in home games, .197 on the road.

♦ The Athletics’ Jemile Weeks made his major league debut on June 7. He proceeded to triple in his 7th, 12th and 25th big-league plate appearance … If Pete Rose had hit three triples every 25 PA, he would have finished with 1,903 three-baggers. Still wouldn’t be in the Hall of Fame though.
