Could Andy Reid's Finale Be a Night Game?

Perhaps the irony is that the Andy Reid era is going to hang on a little longer than we thought after all ... if only for a few hours.
The NFL will enforce its flex scheduling for Week 17 no later than Monday (Merry Christmas Eve!) depending on the playoff possibilities for that weekend. (No night game has yet been scheduled at all; one will move into that NBC slot.) Since so many of the division titles are locked up and the top seeds and byes could be right behind them — and the NFC East title is guaranteed to not be clinched this weekend — Eagles-Giants and Cowboys-Redskins look to be the leaders in the clubhouse to close out the 2012 regular season.
The race for the final (or both) NFC wild-card slots may save us from yet another prime-time Birds event, but there is no denying that having a division title at stake is better for the ratings.
Here's a look at the Week 17 schedule, with records to date and a quick glance at what might be up for grabs in the contest:

I'd watch Cowboys-Redskins before I'd watch Eagles-Giants.
There's not on Eagle player you could call a star. If they all got replaced no one would care. How did it get so bad? Oh, right, Andy chose these losers. His TO debacle began the skid, and his Vick project sealed the deal. Good riddance AR!— harbo- Andy Reid is a great coach and many great coaches never win SBs. The idea that every coach and every team has to win a SB to be supported by fans that have never won anything is ridiculous. If the NE Patriots have as many injuries as the 2012 Eagles and lose some games Bill would be a bad coach too, I guess. Also, I guess, every coach that has coached one SB win should be in the HOF. - Reid is a good coach. But all of his short comings over the years has cost his teams a shot of being a dynasty. The last two minutes of the super bowl. The NFC championship games that the team seemed unprepared for. And the constant poor time management and bad play calling. A fresh approach is needed.— RobertB
- I believe that Andy Reid can be a good to very good coach. I no longer buy that Andy Reid is a great coach. He came to the Eagles without Head-Coaching or Coordinator-level experience or responsibilities, so he came to the Eagles with deficiencies, namely: play-calling; game management and personnel evaluation. Reid was very successful early in his career as the Eagles HC, in spite of his flaws, and so he was never forced to improve on those flaws.
Fourteen years later and we're still witnessing the same flaws... and perhaps he's gotten worse in some of his personnel decisions (especially: coaches). Jim Johnson is no longer around to bail out Reid... and that is a big point. A lot of those coaches that have gone on to be successful with other teams worked directly under Jim Johnson (on the defensive side of the ball) and less with Reid (on the offensive side of the ball).
I thank Andy Reid for all of the good years that he gave to the team... and I am very ready for him to move on. If I was forced to attend the game against the Redskins this weekend, I would definitely give Andy a cheer at the end of the game (regardless of the score). However, if I am forced to witness another season of Reid, I won't even watch the games, even on TV and I will beg all of my family to not buy me any more Eagles merchandise. I will wait until I have heard that Reid has finally been released.
I am not worried that the next Coach will be less successful. If he is, he is... at least maybe he'll set up the coach after that with a good draft pick... and it shouldn't take another 14 years to get there. One thing I am DEFINITELY not worried about is that Reid will go on to win a Super Bowl somewhere else. Fourteen years have shown me that Reid is good. He's just not THAT good.— knighn - Thanks andy. Your allowing the Eagles to at least be able to start fresh next year. High Draft Picks that we may be able to accumulate more. We have one promising rookie QB and im sure will draft another. Oline, DT and Safety will also be addressed in the draft. Andy was a poor talent evaluator and it finally caught up with him. Great at timeouts, great at using a running game, great at time management, great at being flexible and learning from his mistakes, great at promising Jeff Lurie that he could win a Super Bowl on the cheap. But best of all, great at being unable to draft NFL starters. Great coach.
