I disagree - I think that first Giants game is big - and if the Eagles come back to town with 2 losses there's going to be lots of pressure to put down the Giants - if they are losing, watch for the boos coming down from the fans in the seats

Expecting a slow start. Giants started well last two seasons and didn't make the playoffs either time so there are no gaurantees either way. Only matters how well they are playing at the end.

haha, now that's disturbing. I agree though with the slow start. Most years it seems like they start 2-2 or so and all the bandwagon fans predict a losing season until they come on strong Nov/Dec. I wouldn't be surprised if the same happened this year, especially with all the uncertainty due to the lockout and player/coach turnover. I think most teams will have some sloppy early games but the Eagles are built to improve over the course of the season (barring injuries).

I think that the first four games will be concerning, because of the loss of the total preparation that players need before the games count. but if they can go 5-3 like smallwood said in the first 8 games, then they should hit their stride and kick @$$ in Nov./Dec.

What if the Eagles go 11-5..and lose again in the FIRST ROUND of playoffs...like they have for the past TWO YEARS......will you morons still say how great Vick and Reid are?

Who knows? May depend on how it happened (ie, injuries, special teams failures, poor QB play, etc). One thing that I'm pretty sure most would agree with is that you'll STILL BE A MORON! (note the subtle use of ALL CAPS for emphasis)

what if... gee what a creative premise for a story. You could what if anything. What if we didn't have so many media types covering...a football game. Then we wouldn't have to waste our time with such inane storylines. And if they do lose two road games to start the season, more important would be what their record is after 6 games, just before the bye. Of course we'll have the storyline of great expectations gone sour (created by the media and hyped even more after Young tabbed the Eagles as a "dream team.") I'm sorry, there's a lot of angles to cover about games....what if they win, or what if they lose is a prime example of lazy reporting.

are you kidding me.... The Rams suck. If they lose to the rams, they can kiss their Super Bowl dreams goodbye

Some perspective, I don't recall them ever going 3-1 in the preseason since the 2004 Superbowl year, did they go 4-0 maybe that year? They didn't get the slow start in 2004 either, so history would say a first round bye means they start 2-0. Hard to say though, the Packers were 3-3 after 6 games last year.

Eagles have a weak schedule...the DREAM TEAM with the $100 Million QB will be favored to win 14 out of their 16 games...NO MORE EXCUSES by morons like Mabus..If Reid does NOT finally win the Super Bowl this season....the media and fans will run him out of town...period.
