How about Chase Utley? I look at him as the same sort of "heart and soul" type of player. I know his injuries have dimished his performance over the last three seasons, but his commitment and effort has always been "Our" kind of guy!— BillinVA- #60— sarah89

(EAGLES) Chuck Bednarik, Wilbert Montgomery, Brian Dawkins, Wes Hopkins,
(SIXERS) Wilt, Billy Cunningham,
(BOXING) Joe Frazier— advantasux - tie between Parent [last dominant GK we had, as record since bears out] and Steve Carlton, single best season perhaps by any pitcher [was it not about half total team wins in the 27-10 for last place team]. - What about Dr J? Bill Bergey? I don't remember Bernie Parent being that well liked. Of course, he was one of the best goaltender. Right behing Bruce Gamble. Clark was more a fan favorite. Wilt wasn't beloved. Wasn't Charles Barkley a fan favorite?— MikeP

- Have to do this by team for sure. If generating fan reaction is key, how about Iverson? He was electric and got the fans on their feet many times. Hockey...Bernie...Bernie...Bernie. Phillies...Mike Schmidt and Steve Carlton tied...Ryan Howard would get there if he can learn to hit >300 and 40 HRs/yr. Eagles...Cunningham. How about Dr J?
