I was very surprised to hear this but it doesn't change the way I feel as a fan. I love Carlos. He's my catcher.

Not in the same category as steroids or HGH, in my opinion.

Cheater and Stupid! MLB doesn't disclose your first positive drug test so this is actually his second positive test result!!! Should be more games than just 25 - can't wait to see the productivity plumet this year - thanks Chooch!!!

Remember an interview with Mike Schmidt a couple years back if i'm not mistaken he talked about "greenies"in all the clubhouses by the jars full didn't say he used them but they were available don't any of the reporters remember that interview ? seems if thats true all the records of that generation of players are suspect !!!

dwebb - your name should be DWEEB! Not taking amphetamines won't make his production "plumet" (it's plummet, Einstein). As much as I personally abhor cheaters, 'speed' for a MLB catcher is not even close to what Bonds, Clemens, Sosa, etc. have done. The thought of the upcoming HOF ballot, with them on it, makes me sick. The sportswriters (Brookover - are you listening?) who are saying they don't know how they're going to vote should be required to learn what steroids & HGH really do (besides take your hat size up two sizes).

It does not compare with that sickening steroid homerun race between Mark McGuire, & Sammy Sosa that "saved" baseball. That was horrible then, & in retrospect- it is even worse. Carlos did not hit any better because of that drug. All the Phils & Carlos haters will find that out when he returns.

It amazes me that Noah Coslov would apparently not know the difference between anabolics and adderall. Noah, Bob tried to tell you what adderall does - hope it sank in. It does NOT, repeat, NOT make you stronger (like anabolics, HGH) - it makes you faster and gives you a sense that you can do better. Kinda like Red Bull, 5 hr. energy booster, and yes, coffee! Not to mention six zillion other products just like it that are out there. I'd be interested in knowing how those other players got their PUE's that Bob discussed. I'm sure they are all bona fide and legit, right?

Chooch really has to start messing around with this stuff. And use whatever the SF Giants are into.

Ooops, I meant to write "stop" messing around, lol. I'm disappointed about the news. I do understand why players take supplemental substances, the season in very long for anybody....playing and travel. I will not vilify, or act shocked. I believe the players caught is the tip of the iceberg. like I stated above, I have no doubts other players use substances to excel. I especially raise an eyebrow when the Giants literally turn on the jets being down 0-2 at home in a 5-game series....I would have had the whizzing cups ready for them. As for Chooch, he definitely takes a beating behind the plate...it hurts me to watch him take the abuse.

Bottom line - if it didn't make a difference to his performance, he wouldn't have risked taking it. Whether he can bounce back and put up the same numbers is yet to be seen, but to act like it didn't impact his performance is quite simply ridiculous.

He was 32 years old and never made an all star team or ever produced great numbers. All of a sudden "he had a career year" He can kiss that long term contract goodbye; along with his reputation.
