Iverson Waits For Next Tomorrow

POSTED: Monday, July 6, 2009, 9:29 AM

You don't have to feel sorry for Allen Iverson. He doesn't feel sorry for himself. But his journey after leaving Philadelphia hasn't been what he would have imagined.

The Detroit Pistons, thrilled to have his salary off their cap -- even if that freedom came at the price of destroying their season -- did not make an offer when the free agency period began last week and Iverson was available to talk to any team.

There are rumors that me might end up in Memphis or Miami, probably for the $5 million mid-level or veterans exception, or even in Charlotte with Larry Brown. That would be very Larry Brown-like, and maybe it would work.

Iverson talked with the Detroit Free Press about the next stage of his career. There wasn't much new, but it's still amazing to think that Allen ends up like this, essentially unwanted, a bench player who won't accept that role, a legacy from another generation.

Note to Ed: Don't even think about it.

Iverson will be alright. What he should do is join up with the King and SHAQ and accept whatever money they give him to finally get a ring. Of course he would have to defer to Lebron and i don't know if he's ready for that kind of change yet.

Hopefully he won't end up like "Air McNair" once his entourage finds out he's only making $5 million instead of $20 million. I feel so bad that he will only be able to make $5 million next year. BOOOO HOOOO HOOOOO. WAAAA WAAAAAAA.

With or withoug a team, Yverson was and remains one of the best offensive weapons in the NBA Circus lead by their biggest clown, Howard Stern's dad, David.

What else did you want him to say? He's a player past his time that has an ego bigger than Mt Rushmore. He's a backup player on a good team at this stage in his career and if what really motivates him is a championship then he will take on this roll and be a good boy. Something he hasn't done his whole career. There is nothing wrong with being a sixth man or playing a shortened roll on a good team and helping your teamates win a championship. We should all be so talented and lucky. Unfortunately he has dug his own grave with his actions. He's a coach killer and an ego that I wouldn't want on my team.

This website has a mind of its own.....let me try this again: Funniest part of the article was "Note to Ed: Don't even think about it.". I don't want to be negative, but it is as clear as the carribean waters, Iverson will never win a title unless he becomes a teammate FIRST.
