How about a cCHAMPIONSHIP? Is that too much to ask for?

We need one of the teams to actually win something.

The Phillies fans need a reality check. This team is one of the best ever put together in Philadelphia, if not, the very best. Enjoy it while it lasts.

so the 2008 world series was not a championship? can't cling to that one for too long, I know, but come on. we've been competing in the post season in hockey, football, and baseball pretty consistently (I can't bring myself to follow the NBA/Sixers). granted, there are plenty of identifyable flaws in our coaching, our reporting, our playing, our recruiting. the list goes on I'm sure. For the most part, I like what RAJ has been doing. the flyers off-season shakeup has worked out brilliantly, aside from Bob playing better than The Solution right now. I do think that this Eagles team is coming together, but we really could use a re-do on the coaches, Andy included. he's been great, but is becoming stale.

Yes the Phillies won something in 2008, whew, finally. But the Eagles haven't won since 122 AD at the Coliseum in Rome, and the Flyers haven't won since the last ice age. That was a long time ago. I can barely remember.

Some fans who have a more realistic view of the vast weaknesses of the Phillies and the Eagles, maybe more respect for the West Coast teams

I want competitive teams that have a chance. I know everyone fixates on championships, and for good reason, but really--unless you wind up with a mini-dynasty, something really special, who wins it all is just as often a matter of luck, not skill, ESPECIALLY in baseball, the flukiest sport. Get into the playoffs healthy (unlike the Phils last year), and see what happens. All you can ask for.

Some bats, a QB, a coach who can make half-time adjustments, fewer penalties, a streaking goalie and some Boston luck

Realism for phillies. Don't have the hitters. A step slower. Reluctance to change batting order.

The Flyers to win a Cup before the next millenium; the Eagles to finally win ONE; Phillies learn to play small ball instead of the 3run hr game and Sixers, ah ,who cares?

Phillies fans need umpires who don't change the strike zone because they didn't have the balls to eject a manager who does nothing but argue balls and strikes.
