Amy Wright Glenn is a a Kripalu Yoga teacher, a DONA certified birth doula, and a hospital chaplain. Her work has appeared in International Doula. She recently published her first book: Birth, Breath, and Death: Meditations on Motherhood, Chaplaincy, and Life as a Doula

Most people describe you as: Calm, kind, and inquisitive

People would be surprised to know that: I was a cheerleader in Jr. high school.

What is your drink of choice? Water

Where is your happy place? With my 20-month-old son

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? I want to be a better listener in difficult conversations.

What do you consider your greatest achievement? Facing my fears and becoming a mother.

Which trait do you most value in another person? Compassion.

If you could interview anyone, past or present, who would it be? Mahatma Gandhi

Favorite Movie? I love all of the classic musicals as well as the Lord of The Rings trilogy.

What TV show is currently your DVR/On Demand obsession? Modern Family.

What is your guilty pleasure? A full pint of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream.

I believe in: Living with a full heart, loving with as much courage as possible, and serving humanity with kindness.

If you could travel back in time, where would you go? I’d love to visit my ancestors in Norway in the 1800s.

What is your motto or inspiration? Live. Love. Serve.

She taught in The Religion and Philosophy Department at The Lawrenceville School in New Jersey for over a decade. While at Lawrenceville, Amy was the recipient of the Dunbar Abston Jr. Chair for Teaching Excellence. She is a Kripalu Yoga teacher, a DONA certified birth doula, and a hospital chaplain.
