Schwartz to Speak at DNC

POSTED: Friday, August 31, 2012, 1:55 PM

U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz of Pennsylvania's 13th District is scheduled to speak to next week's Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C.

Schwartz will join several female House colleagues in discussiong President Obama's record. No word on what she'll say but here's a hint: There's a giant gender gap benefitting the Democratic Party int he presidential race, so expect something on health care, perhaps. Schwartz is an expert lawmaker on the subject and responsible for some aspects of the Affordable Care Act.

Joining her will be Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, California and Reps. Ros DeLauro of Connecticut; Carolyn Mahoney of New York; Nydia Valesquez of New York, Gwen Moore of Wisconsin; and Donna Edwards of Maryland. Two Democratic congressional candidates, Joyce Beatty of Ohio and Tusi Gabbard of Hawaii, will also speak.

There is a waste of time. All she is going to say is that the world is entitled to free birth control pills and the US Will buy them for the world. What a dead beat. If she drinks as much as pelosi then it should be a slurred speech. Those two giving speeches would be like CHeech and Chong. The only thing worse than those two at the DNC would be to have Biden giving one of his "Carefully" worded tirades on the economy, blaming Bush and the Small Business community for all of the economy's problems. What a world and to make matters worse, they procreate

Schwartz is the most intelligent, most respected (on both sides of the aisle)most honest and decent politician there is. She is also very responsive to her constituents, and a fierce fighter for veterans. If more were like her, we would have a decent country, instead of a bunch of neocons would are obstreperous, who block everything, who lie (even FAUX news called Paul Ryan a big liar, and who want a right wing, white only theocracy for the rich.

It looks like the Democrats will be talking about real issues. Health care is one of the most important issues facing this country. The government blows away the private sector at containing costs and delivering services in the area of health care. The administrative overhead for Medicare and Medicaid is a fraction of what we see in the private sector. People don't care if you call it socialism. Name calling. Childish. The adults only care about receiving quality health care that is affordable. That's something that the private sector has thoroughly proved it is incapable of doing. They’ve had 100 years to get it right. They are bankrupting this country and making American companies uncompetative in the global market. Get the burden of providing health care off of the back's of corporations and they'll will hire like we've never seen before. A single payer, government health care program for everyone is long overdue.

If what you say is true about gov't keeping prices down (and i doubt it is), the ONLY reason would be is because the gov't keeps lowering how much they'll pay the hospitals and doctors for their services. Guess who ends up paying that discrepancy Mike? Me and you! Wake up and keep your eye on the ball.

She wont touch unemployment, our economic challenges, the debt we're heaping on our children and grandchildren and record gas prices. Not that they are important issues. She will give the standard class war racebaiting that really hits home every time. She will be a stalwart for a womans right to choose to kill an innocent soul, black and hispanic victimization, voter id and for gay marriage. And gun control. All the important issues democrats have been talking about for 30 years as the people they "fight" for go down the drain. .

The budget is a legislative task tr88. Repubs are no better than Dems in balancing the budget.
