Santorum Gets a Few Things Off His Chest

Rick Santorum blasted Republican frontrunner Rick Perry as a flip-flopping lightweight who "ignores reality for ideology" during a discussion with Politco Tuesday as he visited Washington for a series of meetings, including a lunch with the party's caucus in the Senate, where he represented Pennsylvania from 1995-2007.

Perry, meanwhile, was in New York addressing people opposed to a United Nations vote on Palestinian statehood. "I've forgotten more about Israel than Rick Perry knows," Santorum said. He questioned why the media take Perry seriously considering his lack of experience with national and international issues.

Santorum has been lagging in the polls - running better than *, but not above single digits - but he says he has been making progress and feels confident. By the way, that confidence is based in reality, Santorum told the news organization. "I'd do a blood test and pee in a cup," he joked.
