Paul Ryan to campaign in West Chester Tuesday

POSTED: Sunday, August 19, 2012, 6:56 PM

Rep. Paul Ryan, the Republican vice-presidential candidate, is scheduled to headline a rally on Tuesday afternoon in West Chester, Pa., before attending a Center City fundraiser, according to GOP officials.

Ryan will speak at the American Helicopter Museum & Education Center at 3:30 p.m. The Delaware Valley has a long history with rotary-wing aircraft, and several helicopter manufacturers have facilities in the area.

Doors to the museum, at 1220 American Blvd., are scheduled to open at 1:30 p.m. People interested in attending are asked to RSVP for tickets at www.mittromney.com/states/pennsylvania.

Earlier Tuesday, Ryan is scheduled to visit a family-owned steel plant in Carnegie, Pa., outside Pittsburgh.

You Libs who only watch MSNBC and read the Daily Kos are IDIOTS!!!
Do you recall Obama telling Matt Lauer 3 years ago if "the economy isn't fixed within 3 years, then I'll be a 1 term President"? I guess you forgot that.

The Obama statement is NULL AND VOID. What he didn't say nor realize was that he would have a Republican Congress who would obstruct every attempt to fix the economy. Even reject proposals that Republicans wanted.

Name calling: the lowest form of debate. Completely meaningless. The economy is fixed. The recession is over. There's not even a debate on that fact. Look at the numbers. Romney's policies are identical to Bush's. Bush's policies created the Great Recession. We were losing 800,000 jobs a month AND had massive deficits. The criticism is about the pace of the recovery. Republicans have cut spending at the Federal level and state's controlled by Republicans have made massive spending cuts. That's the primary reason the recovery has slowed after a fast start. That's reality.

There's a legitimate argument to be made as to whether the economy has improved enough to warrant another four years of Obama. But you are incorrect as it relates to the Obama interview with Matt Lauer. His discussion with Lauer centered on TARP and not the economy. The commercial addressed in the PolitiFact review below also notes that the commercial conflates deficits and national debt. Unfortunately, this type of playing fast and loose with the facts is something both parties pursue. There's a reason they call this the Silly Season.

    See http://www.politifact.com/florida/statements/2012/aug/16/americans-prosperity/obama-national-debt-held-accountable-one-term/ for full facts

Just to be clear, here is the transcript from The Today show of the interview Obama had with Lauer in 2009:

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Yeah, well — I — I don't wanna preempt an announcement next week. And there's a lot of technical aspects to it. And if I — say — that we're doing one thing. then the markets might interpret it differently from what it ends up being. But the basic principle that we're gonna have to see some of this debt written down, that the government is gonna have to support some banks, that others that are not — not viable, essentially that we're gonna have to — do something with those assets,

MATT LAUER: At some point will you say, "Wait a minute, we've spent this amount of money. We're not seeing the results. We've got to change course dramatically?"

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Look, I'm at the start of my administration. One nice thing about — the situation I find myself in is that I will be held accountable. You know, I've got four years. And —

MATT LAUER: You're gonna know quickly how people feel —

    PRESIDENT OBAMA: — and — and —

MATT LAUER: — about what —

PRESIDENT OBAMA: that's exactly right. And — and, you know, a year from now I think people — are gonna see that — we're starting to make some progress. But there's still gonna be some pain out there. If I don't have this done in three years, then there's gonna be a one-term proposition.

Jan 2012- US gained 250,000 jobs

    Jan 2009- Dow Jones 6,500
    Jan 2009- Dow Jones 13,000

Unemployment before Obama policy took effect in June 2009- 12 %

POTUS does not have anything to do with pushing up gas prices.

But Koch Brothers do have influence to push up gas prices. It has happened before every election when Democration were trying re-election or continuation of the presidency in recent years.

Is he going to tell all the young people in this college town that he wants them to pay into Soc. Sec. and Medicare so the old and those 55 and over can have great, A+ Soc. Sec./Medicare and the young and middle aged can have a stock market based Soc. Sec. and a voucher for Medicare? No, he will lie, like he and Romney have throughout their political lives.

Paul Ryan owes all of his wealth to the federal government. That's the problem with young people today- all griping and whining with no sense of gratitude. I'd prefer you just say thank you Paul then go build the roads. See what happens when kids grow up rich. They have time to sit around and read all these books about how victimized they are and forgot all the taxpayers money that got them that way. I wonder if Betty thinks IRS safe for little paulie to be in the big city of Philadelphia all by himself. Doesn't anyone care about hypocrisy anymore or are you all just dazzled by the spectacle? If you let Ryan get away with this you are lost to a world of spectacle and literacy of the issues or understanding the world is of no matter to you.

Be a big boy and pony up complete returns for the last twelve years like your dad did when he ran for President. You make a zillion dollars, we all know that...quit hiding under Anne's skirt. It seems like you've already lied alot in this election, what's couple more fibs?

If Ryan's such a "Boy Scout," will we see him resign from the Romney campaign because he can't abide by Mitt's lying? Or will his work-out group now be called "Lyin with Ryan?"

Let all Bush tax cuts expire. Seems less radical than sending us back to the old deal, the poor house and people hunting for food in the woods. Just saying.

Hey Seed- you are clearly distorting the unemployment numbers. You fail to count the underemployed- so the more closely accurate unemployment rate is about 15%, not 8, which you lefties like to minimize. Oh BTW seed, college grads face a 54.6% who are underemployed/unemployed, great numbers. That figure was quoted in the Philly Inquirer in the 4 part series of the unemployment problem. Hey Seed, let's talk about how Obama, Chris Dodd and Barney Frank were the biggest recipients of campaign contributions from Fannie and Freddie, two of the biggest contributors to the housing meltdown. As far as gas prices, let's talk about how Obama and the clueless dems are against the Keystone Pipeline. The first act that VP Hair Plugs did as a US Senator back in the day was to be against the TAPS, his first vote in the Senate. Think how bad gas would be today if that did not go through.

Common Sense- Fixing the economy? The dems had complete control over the entire Congress for the first two years of Obama and then even before that for the midterm elections for the last term of Bush. They have had more than enough time. Let's talk about how Trickle down economics does work, 20+ million jobs created under Reagan. If he wasn't that great, than why did he win 49 out of 50 states for re-election?

Complete control of Congress? Republicans did everything they could to slow down progress by filibustering. Obama also had to deal with the fact that some of the Democrats were up for reelection in districts that were largely Republican. Republicans constantly said that Obama was going too fast and needed to slow down. But he was able to get the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The stimulus bill immediately turned the economy around and we’ve been creating jobs ever since. Republican policies resulted in a loss of 800,000 jobs per months. The Affordable Care Act has started to address the number one issue confronting this country and that is the out of control growth in the cost of health care.

Trickle down/Voodoo economics failed and the Reagan administration admitted as much. You don't get to change history. How about an honest debate? Why the constant lies and distortions?

Ryan, the leading Republican mind in the country on budgets, finanace and tax policy, crafted a budget that doesn't add up, is loaded with unrealistic assumptions with no explanation how he came up with them and won't balance the budget in Ryan's lifetime. He is a complete fraud. His reputation is nothing but a superficial image that he's and conservative pundits has crafted. Even conservative economist say his "budget" is an incoherent, jumbled mess. The United State Conferance of Catholic Bishops have described the Ryan budget as immoral and in conflict with Christian values.

Paul the Chopper and Akins of MO. cosponsored a bill to redefine rape. Now what is it about rape that needs redefining? This is another example of the Republican conservative thinking and their attempts to send women rights back to the dark ages. I don't understand how any thinking woman can vote for a Republican candidate. Paul the Chopper should be questioned about his disdain for women rights, especially by the good people of West Chester and the suburbs. But, I'm sure the crowd will be kool-aid drinking Fix news Republicans who want to take America back (from what and whom I don't know) from the President and his supporters who don't look like them.

MikeP- let's talk about the 20+ million jobs created under Reagan. If he wasn't that great, than why did Reagan win 49 out of 50 states for re-election? Hmmmm. Please answer me that. You have no retort to that. I have to laugh at your assertions about the American Recovery Act. Even Obama said "they weren't quite shovel ready jobs." It is on tape with him laughing about it. Small Businesses create jobs(they account for 50-65% of all new net jobs), not working on Infrastructure projects, which are one off jobs. With respect to the Healthcare Bill, you and other dems don't understand basic supply and demand. How can you add 30 million people when there will be an estimated 75,000 shortage of PCP doctors come 2025? Let's talk about the 21 new taxes on medical device companies, which are sources of medical innovation for medical device companies. Lastly, let's talk about how we as Americans will be penalized $2,000 if we don't have satisfactory healthcare coverage? Never in our nation's history have we had a Government tell us that we have to buy something? That is insane. Let's talk about how there will be an estimated 75,000 PCP less doctors by 2025. How can you add an estimated 30 Million people to the Healthcare rolls if you do nothing to stop the impending shortage of PCP doctors? Cant give you the exact date, but it appeared in USA Today newspaper. I welcome you to refute the statistics and facts that I presented. You have no come back.
