Obama Camp Tags GOP Frontrunners as Extreme

POSTED: Monday, October 3, 2011, 3:32 PM
President Obama in a pensive moment. (Associated Press)

President Obama's campaign went on the attack against the cream of the Republican field for holding extreme views in memo to "interested parties" Monday that provides a window on the re-election strategy.

The document argues that GOP frontrunners, Texas Gov. Rick Perry and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney have embraced views on Social Security and immigration that vast majorities of the American people oppose.

“The campaign to win the Republican nomination has become a campaign to win the hearts and minds of the Tea Party,” writes Ben LaBolt, press secretary for Obama’s re-election. “They would return to policies that have been tried before and done nothing to improve economic security for the middle class, rewarding special interests who can afford to pay for lobbyists instead of looking out for working families.”

It notes that Perry has compared Social Security to a "Ponzi scheme" fraud and argued that it is unconstitutional and that retirement plans should be left to the states. Romney has come out hard against a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants; the memo says that 64 percent of Americans support such a policy.

In general, all the GOP candidates favor the wealthy over the middle class. Here is a full copy of the memo.

Talk about extremist policies. Obama is so far to the left that the independent voters now hate him. Clinton got re-elected by moving from left wing back toward the middle. Not Obama. He moves even further to the left. He is now the living definition of a left wing nut job. He wants as many people as possible dependent on entitlements. What ever happended to "ask not what your country can do for you"?

JFK said that a long time ago. Democrats today have all "forgotten" that.

Oh.....I almost forgot: "Pastor Jeremiah Wright"...the purveyor of a hate filled, white hating Black Liberation Theology....a pastor who said "God Damn America"...also his buddy, Bill Ayers, who bombed buildings as a Marxist revolutionary....a man who wrote the intos to Obama' books. But Obama, the liar that he is, tries to deceive...and pretend he barely knows Ayers. This is the nature of this viper. This deceiver. This anti-Christ who with cunning, and help from high places...wormed his way into power.

Hey, Tom Fitz: Obama++ had the most leftwing record in the US Senate and the (L)MSM ignored that fact and completely failed to vet him. Why don't you and your colleagues at this Obama++ cheerleading paper ask Obama++ why he's not running on his record?

Extremest views???? Wow!! Let's take a look at who Obama believes in: Marx; Lenin; Alinsky, Frank Marshall Davis; Mexican drug cartels (who were give guns by him); The Black Panthers (whose case was dropped by Eric Holder); Cloward; Piven; Soros; ......and any other far, far left academic elite that wants to spit on the Constitution and implement a Big Government where the State is your Nanny....and your new Alpha and Omega.

Obama won in 2008 by running against "Bush." His unpopular progressive policies aren't going to sell in 2012, and this desperate tactic isn't likely to sell, either. "It could have been worse" isn't an effective slogan.

This is new? It's the same tired old tactic of the Democrats and their Soros-controlled minions like the union goons and other Democrat front organizations funded by the foreign money of their sugar daddy Georgie. They have nothing to offer but fear itself.

Great irony -- Obama calling anybody else an extremist. America fell for his BS in 2008 and gave him a job and a credit card with no spending limit. He has nearly bankrupted us, and he has the nerve to look down his condescending nose at anyone who challenges his lack of leadership. I've had enough Obama for one lifetime.

Of course, the good Obama lapdogs at the Inquirer/Daily News are definitely the "interested parties". They are the willing propaganda arm of the Obama re-election campaign. How pathetic.

Whether Obama's presidency ends in 2012, or 2016, he will be on the taxpayers' dime for the rest of his life.

Obama calling the GOP front runners is like the pot calling the kettle black. Ohh no now I'll be called a racist.

Anything in the papers as to the emails that just came to light that Holder received regarding "Fast and Furious" and where guns were going. After all, he attested that he knew nothing!!! And, let's ask Obama when he knew then let's try whoever responsible for the death of the border officer.

Don is right OBAMA Loves and he cares. That is what makes a great president. He is so smart too. Smarter than all of us. Sure his policies have failed miserably, he cares and that is all that matters. I will vote for him because America needs a president who has no clue but cares.

Verve, I looked it up. It's "pot, meet kettle." Your point is accurate, but get your put-downs right.

Obama is correct. Fox News & the current GOP candidates have really dumb-down the debate regarding what direction the country should go in. I will vote for Obama again in 2012 because his heart & mind is in the right place.

His heart and mind are in large, centralized government controlled almost entirely by the President, and without any constitutional limitation.

I have been correct in a later post. I completely messed up my quote. It's "The pot calling the kettle black." I apologize for my Swiss cheese memory. Thanks to Blair for pointing that out.

Desperate man now has to resort to do and say desperate things. That's OK, he'll soon have plenty of time for golf and vacationing; only no longer on the taxpayer's dime.

Wasn't it rather extreme how the dumbocrats wasted all that stimulus money and it didn't produce any jobs? Obumma has had almost three years to do something and he hasn't done a thing yet. Get ready, chump; you only have about one year left!
