Siena Poll finds Pa. up for grabs in prez race

POSTED: Tuesday, October 9, 2012, 9:17 AM

Pennsylvania's 20 electoral votes seem up for grabs in a new Siena Research Institute Poll that shows a tight race, with President Obama leading Republican Mitt Romney 43 percent to 40 percent.

The Siena College survey finds 12 percnet of the state's voters undecided. It shows Romeny winning in the Philadelphia suburbs. "With a month and two more debates to go, Pennsylvania's direction on the road to the White House remains in doubt," said Don Levy, the poll director.

Obama is viewed favorably by 49 percent of the voters, to 44 percent who view the president unfavorably, while Romney's ratio is 40 percent favorable to 49 percent unfavorable, the poll finds.

Results are based on interviews with 545 likely voters between Oct. 1 and Oct. 5, and results are subject to a margin of error of plus or minus 4.2 percentage points.

Sienna Poll? Nice try, I'm not buying this one. Faux News is probably behind this joke...

@ Napa - We'll if that's your position, then you must discredit all the other polls as well. Meaning PA is truly up for grabs which only benefits Romney.

Agreed with tr88. If Barry has to fight to hang on here, he's finished nationally.

Romney's chances of winning Pennsylvania are about as remote as Tom Smith beating Bob Casey, Jr. This poll must have been taken in the Republican "T", not on Main Street or Sesame Street!!

He doesn't necessarily have to win. If he can force Barry to spend time and resources here to defend it, it's as good as a win.

The jig is up, Obama. You were exposed in front of the world last week by a competent, ADULT leader. Romney is up more than these polls tell you. Dems are being over-sampled (as if it were 2008) in every poll even though the enthusiasm for Romney voters is much higher. Only look at LIKELY VOTER polls and Obama is TOAST!

Suddenly the Repubs are lauding polls like this one as Gospel, while they labeled all the pro-Obama polls as "liberal hype." So typical and laughable. Romney has NO chance in PA, but if this poll floats your Romneyian boats, enjoy it while it lasts.

You can smell the fear in these Barry lemmings. Their little boy emperor has finally been exposed as wearing no clothes, and they don't know how to handle the fallout. Forward!

Aside from Allegheny & Philadelphia county- this is a right of center state (w/o the Philly suburbs a right wing state)...........that's why the GOP controls the state apparatus.

I've been in business for 25 years and I have no idea what you are talking about, Mr. President.
