...already here in Sydney (in Phillies red!), coming soon to a town near you. After the Eagles win the Super Bowl on Feb. 1 in Tampa, to the musical accompaniment of Bruce Springsteen, what else do we hope for in the New Year? Because someone told me that change is coming.

Program note: I'll be off until this Sunday (Jan. 4). Have a great holiday (didn't we just have one of these?)

Facts are stubborn things, batboy. The kid is a b*sta*rd. Now, you might find something wrong with the fact that he was born out of wedlock, but I don't. So, once again all we see from you is a projection of your own hatred. If you feel that somehow his being a b*ast*ard is negative, then take it up with Palin and her family. I'd suggest that you also take it up with the family of the father also - but you'll have to wait until his mother gets out of jail on drug charges. Peace. Shanti. Peace.

To the two posters who responded to me, yes I really am a veteran. You don't have to thank me for my service. I was pleased to give my time to my country. I think everyone, and I mean everyone, should give at least 2 years to either the military or, if they would object to military service, some other type of service to our nation. I think it's the least we should do for what our country gives us. And, yes, I do think I can discern who's served and who hasn't. Just like any other person who's worn the uniform, I can usually (I've been wrong twice in about 30 years) tell if someone has gone through basic training and military discipline for a couple of years. And, quite frankly, after reading your replies, I don't think either of you have raised your right hand and taken the military oath. I could be wrong, but I really don't think so.

LOL - THE CIRCUS CONTINUES - Blago pick for The Messiah's seat - while of course not as disgusting as Obama's preferred slumlord pick Valerie Jarrett - sought death penalty for obviously innocent man. Politico: "While state attorney general in 1992, Burris aggressively sought the death penalty for Rolando Cruz, who twice was convicted of raping and murdering a 10-year-old girl in the Chicago suburb of Naperville. The crime took place in 1983. But by 1992, another man had confessed to the crime, and Burris' own deputy attorney general was pleading with Burris to drop the case, then on appeal before the Illinois Supreme Court. Burris refused. He was running for governor." Yes, his own prosecutors kept telling him the man he wanted the death penalty for was innocent, and even resigned in protest. Burris didn't care. DNA exoneration, and implication of another man. That other man confessing. A lead detective and top prosecutor resigning in protest. I believe they call these "red flags" in the legal business. (ace of spades)

hmmm. Thanks for the explanation there, gophillies, but I notice that you changed something there... you changed "drug-dealing grandmother" to "drug dealers." Would there be a reason for that? Maybe because drug-dealing grandmothers are found in a fairly limited demographic group - you know, like in the extended family of Republican candidates for Vice-president of the United States? Could that be it? And as a Republican, you're ashamed of the fact that your candidate for VP has a b*st*rd grandchild, and that her daughter's b*st*rd child has a drug-dealing grandmother?
