Please, Barack, we don't need to cling to our guns and religion even as we watch all our meager assembly line jobs sail away on that slow boat to China. Not when we can watch a bunch of immigrants (hope they're all legal!) bash each over the head with large sticks for the next two weeks!

Go Flyers, and just remember that when the Great Philadelphia Curse finally ends, you'll never see it coming.

Speaking of things you didn't see coming, who watched this Friday night. I did! Definitely not a time for Philadelphia sports fans to be bitter. UPDATE: Heh, it only took Burrell four-plus seasons to make the famous artist's rendering of Citizens Bank Park finally come true.

You gotta love Pat Burrell. The guy is clutch. I can't figure out why Philly fans boo that guy.

While focusing the boos on Ryan Howard. Burrell's swing looks 10x better than it used to. You can also see how much more comfortable he is at the plate. Got 2 more hard hits off a super tough young hitter yesterday.

Burrell is playing great now and he should get cheered, but fans had legitimate reason for booing him earlier in his career. He get a mega contract and went in the tank. He was horrible for a while.

Maybe Obama was right after all. Here's Obama's quote explained, "And it's not surprising then they get bitter (about a quarter century without a championship), they cling to guns (big guns like Briere & Umberger) or religion (I admit that I prayed the Flyers would beat the Habs) or antipathy toward people who aren't like them (Canadiens) or anti-immigrant sentiment (well, they ARE called the Canadiens, and we are certainly anti-Canadien) or anti-trade sentiment (trade deadline is over anyway) as a way to explain their frustrations."
