This one?

Or this one?

When this World Series is over, New York City is going to have to address its low civic self-esteem problem.

.....And Philly is the second class city???!!! Give me a break. Nothing will be sweeter than winning 2 in a row in their park, in front of their fans.

They are mostly liberals in New York what else do you expect of them?

Eh, I don't think it's a NY low civic self-esteem issue as much as it's a misperception of what a handful of ex-pat Aussies think an authentic tough NY voice sounds like. They jumped the shark years ago; gone is the clever wordplay ("Headless body in topless bar" "Bady dead in freezer, mother grilled in Brooklyn"), now it's just juvenile "You wear skirts/diapers". It's a shame, really, I used to always make it a point to check out the tabloid headlines in the course of my day. In the past, it delivered regularly enough that it sustained itself. But that ended some time ago.

Please Cholly, if you have a lead in Game 6, please do not Fregosi this up. Please do not rely on a shell-shocked, burned out, head case to try and close the deal.

The New York Post is owned by Rupert Murdoch, the same guy who owns the fictional Fox News, same guys who produce the fictional Glenn Beck Show. Happily, they're always wrong.

Why the clowning around at 2nd base in the 4th game and where was the man on 3rd base

bryanc - while I don't agree with your description you are no doubt talking about Lidge. I'm with Cholly on this one for sure Lidge would be my closer. There was nothing wrong with Lidge in game 4 that sticking to his slider wouldn't have cured. I understand the logic that w/ a runner on 3rd you don't want them to score on a PB/WP but I see no sense in getting beat on your second best pitch - and can'[t explain the fastballs away to damon after the count was 1-2. Game 6 is ours - now the game 7 starter question..............

Will - How many of those Reagan bashing books did you actually sell? (please exclude the one your mother bought)

bryanc - another disagreement with your post re: "don't Fregosi this up". Fregosi was forced to send someone out there in Game 6 in 1993 who in the words of Daulton was simply "out of bullets". Cholly right now has the advantage of what I have to imagine is the best rested closer going into game 6 of the WS ever.

Phils will be playing golf by tomorrow...NJ just became the nation's anus, social conservatism is America's Taliban, and Reagan is busy keeping hell hot right now...leave him alone. All are facts. Next?

I thought this one was kind of funny, though the Victorino one and it's accompanying headline were just lame.
