Where's the 'change,' Punxsutawney Phil?

It was morning in America, and I work up today with hope -- that change was finally coming, the chill winds of these recent, difficult times would fade and that the dark clouds would yield to sunshine and warmth. Why did we expect so much....from Punxsutawney Phil? Our groundhog-in-chief came out with his mandatory six-week weather projections this morning, before the markets opened, and the forecast called for...more of the same. Under Punxsutawney Phil's grim guidance, winter will be burdening not just you and me but your children and (if you're old enough to be a grandparent right now) your children's children, who will be bundling up to deal with this crisis for days to come. So much for "hope" and "change" when it comes to our weather. I'm done with this guy -- I say, impeach Punxsutawney Phil!

In a related note, the great Greg Mitchell directs to this excellent video analysis from the New York Times, on why "Groundhog Day" is one of the greatest movies of all time.
