We shall overcome...but not today
We shall overcome...but not today

In a grave injustice, the judge in the Pennsylvania voter ID case has upheld the law...for now. The bad news is that the courts of appeal aren't lined up, politically, for opponents of the law, either. The only realistic counterattack is what I would call "massive compliance" -- an all out effort using planes, trains and automobiles or whatever to obtain Tom Corbett's papers between now and November. I hope voting-rights advocates are up for the job.

Opposition to voter ID is support of voter fraud. It is also a racist policy. georgel
Still no tax returns from Mittens. Instead we get his whining. Grow a sack Mittens and stop crying like a girl! The Fundamentals of the Economy are Fine
Impeach that creep! Hamlet
This law does nothing to address a problem that doesn't exist. What's next, leash laws for unicorns?
Seriously, do everything you can to get your ID. Help grandma get hers too. Sit there and wade through the bureaucracy as long as it takes, and if you're a registered voter and you still can't get an ID for whatever reason - Vote anyway, even provisionally! The fix is in, and we might need every vote to toss these bums. PhillySteel36
Be honest for once, pantload. What did you really expect? I mean, the US Supreme Court has already upheld a very similar law with uber-liberal John Paul Stevens writing the MAJORITY opinion, for gaia's sake. Any honest jurist is going to look at that precedent and rule the same way. Sorry, but you don't get to vote twice this time. Find another way to cheat, you corrupt 'progressive' fraud. b,ill atkins
"Seriously, do everything you can to get your ID. Help grandma get hers too. Sit there and wade through the bureaucracy as long as it takes" That's good advice. If you bed-wetters weren't so hell-bent on defending your 'right' to steal elections, this could have been done months ago. b,ill atkins- 1.3 million Pennsylvanians will be disenfranchised by this law. Almost all of them are from one political party, and nearly all of them elderly, disabled, or minority. There are no cases of voter fraud in PA. The state admitted as much. Plus the only party “stealing” elections these days are the Republicans (Think Bush v. Gore, or Ohio in 04). THIS LAW IS HOW YOU STEAL ELECTIONS.
If rural areas were being disproportionately supressed, I'm sure you'd be wetting your bed too.

I need an ID to:
1. get a job
2. buy alcohol
3. see a rated 'R' movie
4. drive a motor vehicle
5. to get on a plane
6. to pick up phils tix at will call
7. to fill a prescription
8. to cash a check
9. to get on an elevator at the Comcast Cntr
10. to travel outside of the US
Not sure what the problem with getting an ID is... bp*philly- None of those things is essential to Democracy. Voting is.
PhillySteel36 - You forgot
11. Go to Atty General Holder's meeting on voter ID's
12. Go to an Democrat Party Caucus meeting.
When is Will going to do an expose saying that the above companies/entities asking for an ID are racist.
If you want to vote put on your big boy pants and get an ID!
Also just 60% of our voter eligable population votes so what is the big deal?

Citizens United, voter role purges, other voter suppression tactics. Why do we even pretend we are a democracy? The rest of the world is not fooled, or is it to fool ourselves? Hamlet
Will Bunch: We have a a right to committ voter fraud and the law will not stop us. CD75
Awwwwwwwww, now those poor, poor people are going to have to go get an ID. Oh the humanity! What a bunch of crybabies. Go get your ID and stop whining! Commentdant_Klink
The Democrats are going to have to focus their voter fraud efforts on absentee ballot fraud.
There's still time, and I don't doubt they can get it done. Mr. Smith
