"We need to do 2 things"

Pennsylvania state Sen. Daylin Leach, our next governor (not really, but it's something to consider) took to Reddit for an AMA ("ask me anything") today, and he laid out the path forward on guns. It goes something like this:

We need to do 2 things. First, we need to stop straw purchasers by passing one-gun-per-month legislation and lost-and-stolen legislation. These two bills will stop straw purchasers cold and not harm the rights of law-abiding citizens.

Second, there are certain types of guns that no civilian should have. These include military-style assault weapons with huge magazine clips. These guns are of no use for hunting or confronting a burglar. their only purpose is to kill lots of people quickly. As has been said by someone more eloquent than me (I don't actually believe that, but I'm told I need to "work on" my modesty) "the bill of rights is not a suicide pact".

Sounds good -- now we just need to do two more things, which would be wait for Gov. Corbett's tenure to end and marginalize the NRA, as explained here.
