Waterloo!

POSTED: Monday, March 22, 2010, 4:35 PM

Jim DeMint couldn't escape if he wanted to. Looks like I picked the wrong weekend to quit blogging -- now that the Democrats see how good it feels to actually pass something, who knows what crazy thing they'll do next. Discuss! Me? I'm writing a book -- remember?

Seriously- Nancy Pelosi walking outside with a Giant Gavel? Using reconciliation? Going against the will of the American people? The democrats never cease to amaze- yet the media who worshipped the anti war protestors- do not cover the protestors at the capital?

Swifty, cheer up. Costa Rica beckons you.

Great comparison, sloboat. Healthcare reform and flying planes into the WTC/the assassination of Kennedy are, exactly, the same thing. And seriously, cheapening the lives of thousands of Americans by equating their deaths to healthcare reform is a classy move. Really, very classy. What's next, shouting racial epithets and "baby killer?"

I'd say its an apt comparison, the Dems are purposely allowing people w/o insurance to die for the next 4 years.

The spectacle of watching the Dems laughing it up and toasting themselves with Champagne after disgracing themselves will remain in my mind for a long time. At least until November.

"Really, very classy." . . . . . . Panic is setting in. The death panels won't be kind to freethinkers like swifty, you know. I hereby pledge whatever I can do to give him sanctuary until he can escape the country.

Thanks to the Democrats for passing this bill (no thanks to Republicans that did everything possible to block it's passage). It's entertaining to watch the extreme righties squirm in defeat.

"Waits for cancer surgery, among other ailments, will lenghten under Obamacare." . . . . . . Right, more folks will now be able to get treatment, but I always thought demand spurred supply. I bet swifty's investing in health care stocks as we speak.

notsoswift is certainly a master at making authoritative statements with nothing the least bit factual to back it up. Typical repug tactic. How in the world people having insurance will translate into more people dying, or waiting longer for cancer surgery, is beyond the realm of rational thought. Oh, but it sounds scary. And RG, did it occur to you other people's money already pays for almost every insured individual who gets seriously ill. If everybody received as much in benefits each year as they paid in premiums, insurance would bot have the funds to pay for the truly big bills. The whole idea of any insurance -- health, car, life, property and casualty -- is to pay the bills with other people's money. It's called pooling the risk. The difference now is that everybody will be part of that pool. And since there is no tax increase on 97.5% of the population, we can be pretty sure that swifty and RG won't be paying an extra cent. Last time I checked, no way McDonalds paid that well.
