This is why Vancouver can never be allowed to win the Stanley Cup, considering how they act when they lose. To my knowledge, Philadelphia fans have never rioted over a loss, although there've been about, oh, 10,000 or so opportunities to do that. The bizarre thing is that if you've ever been fortunate enough to visit Vancouver, it is arguably the most beautiful city in North America.

On the outside, anyway.

Sorry I forget to tell everyone that I took a personal day yesterday, for a good reason for a change. I was not in Vancouver.

Oh, let me be a wingnut! See what happens when Canadians elect a conservative??? Wow, that's so freeing. I see why they like blaming all their problems on a group of people.

Canucks fans also booed the Bruins as they celebrated and as they were awarded the Cup. Ignorant. Say what you will about Philly fans, but we are sophisticated enough to know when to dispense hate and when we are beaten. When the Hawks clinched in our building last year there was nothing thrown on the ice, no booing of the cup presentation(actually polite applause), and no violence in the city afterward. None of this will be mentioned in the next ESPN hatchet piece on Philly fans.

This is a sign of the end of times, if Canadians are looting over anything other than a shortage of beer.

Drudge is reporting this is all staged, Obama government propaganda to instigate a new cold war to reboot the economy, according to an unconfirmed source at the Canada desk at CIA. Stay tuned....

    Canucks released the following statement:

"The destructive actions and needless violence demonstrated by a minority of people last night in Vancouver is highly disappointing to us all. We are proud of the city we live and play in and know that the actions of these misguided individuals are not reflective of the citizens of Vancouver or of any true fans of the Canucks or the game of hockey. Canucks fans should remember at the end of the day at least your not in Detroit."

The only reason Philly fans get a bad rap is because of the NY media!!!

MSL - I saw this movie before and it wasn't that good the first time. Nobody wants to see Alan Alda or Rhea Perlman on the big screen and John candy is dead - but Rip torn is the man.

"The US economy is in a rut, and so is the president's approval rating. What we need is a good war, but the Russians aren't interested. Hey -- how about that big polite country to the north?"

It's time we put the America back in 'North America'.

The news report I saw said it was anarchists, not Canuck fans, that were rioting, proved because they brought stuff to riot with, including gasoline to set fires. This strikes me as very odd, and I would be interested in getting the true story on this one. Also, I have been hoping to spend some time in Vancouver and it would be nice to know that they are the good Canadians I have heard about for years. Apparently the good Canadians did show up the next day to help clean up.

Vancouver is the world's most overrated city. Given its incomparably gorgeous setting, the British Columbians created an overbuilt, sprawling, boring mess.

The next day, hundreds of Vancouver residents showed up downtown, armed with trash bags, gloves, and brooms. They started cleaning up their city, without even being asked. One person even penned a notice stating "I'm sorry" about the damaged to businesses and posted it outside a looted store -- hundreds of people have signed their names to it.

I highly doubt any of this would happen in Philadelphia.
