This is what Democrats are so excited about?

Doesn't take much, apparently.

TPS that's good to hear. I feel better now. Why then do you not defend them when they are stereotyped on blogs such as this? I happen to be one who is a Libertarian because I find the position of both parties on most issues to be pandering...... I do not think morality can be legislated, but at the same time I believe in the long lost concept of "virtue" a word discarded in our society. A free society cannot continue to exist without a virtuous citizenry. It doesn't matter if one is rich, poor, black, white or in between. I don't see that discussion anywhere. sleepy

But I do have some problems with some elements of the Christian right. ---}}} I find the position of both parties on most issues to be pandering..... {{{--- 100% agreement there, sleepy. ---}}} A free society cannot continue to exist without a virtuous citizenry. {{{--- And I agree there also, although I see no inherent correlation between religion and virtue. For many religious folks there is a connection, but for many religious folks there isn't. And, of course, non-religious folks are just as likely to be virtuous as non-virtuous. Talking point sleuth
TPS, there are standards of behaviour we should all be able to agree on, whether religious or non religious. OIt could start with respect of each other's opinion. I'm the first to say the the 'religious" population in the US has a lot to be desired in terms of virtue. The "religious" folks divorce rate is the same as our "non religious" friends. IAppreciate your comments. sleepy
