This Army Reserve major can't handle the truth

Oh, good grief!

U.S. Army Maj. Stefan Frederick Cook, set to deploy to Afghanistan, says he shouldn't have to go.

His reason?

Barack Obama was never eligible to be president because he wasn't born in the United States.

So what is more scary -- the fact that this guy's been promoted up through the rank of major or the comments from some of the readers in the linked article? Kudus to the reporter who wrote the article for flatly coming in with the "actually" truth in the fourth paragraph.

I really don't understand the Birthers spending so much time on the Obama's-not-a-citizen issue. Not only has he posted his valid birth certificate, but his birth at a Honolulu hospital was announced in the local newspaper that week. Beyond that, what is going on in the heads of these people that they cling to this bogus piece of non-information with their dear lives?

There's nothing wrong with not liking Obama, not liking his proposals or not liking the fact that he was elected last year -- so get out there and oppose his policies and lobby your member of Congress, or elect new ones in 2010 or then volunteer for the Palin 2012 political juggernaut. Why waste your time on this nonsense...or use it as an excuse not to serve your country?
