There's a bear in the woods

Oops, it wandered onto Wall Street by accident (just keeping with today's Reagan theme).

Oh yeah, and...no blood in ants!

Ants have no blood!

OK, maybe a little.

Will, will you be spending your 4th with Chris Satullo wallowing in liberal misery?

"The Inquirer will publish the last edition of the Neighbors sections on Sunday, July 27. We will also combine the Sunday Arts and Entertainment and the Image section on beginning August 3. In addition, we are looking at ways to reduce the number of pages in the Comics section." LOL. This debilitating-slow-motion death is getting increasingly ugly. In the Euroweeny/liberal tradition, may I recommend getting this over with already with a little physician-assisted suicide? I mean why continue with this intolerable suffering? Cut to the chase Inky. EUTHANASIA!

Swifty, for the first time ever I may agree with you -- what newspapers are doing to themselves and their employees is probably in a Chinese Communist torture manuel from the 1950s or something.

Thanks for the shout-out Willie!....Coming on the heels of these recent rounds of newspaper cuts, news of Rush's $400,000,000 deal must be doubly painful to the liberal media. Stuart Smalley must be bummed too. Heh.

The sports section will be the last to go. Check that, probably the obits. I've seen old ladies poring over them more intently than I ever studied the box scores.

Who would have thought...Will & Swifty as bash the news buddies --- only in America. Gee Will, you better get moving on that Reagan book!

Rush Limbaugh is doing a hell of alot better than the newspapers.

Police: Remains Found of 12 year old Brooke Bennett ... (Bethel, VT) - Vermont State Police say they have found remains they believe are those of 12 year old Vermonter Brooke Bennett. A clearly emotional Colonel James Baker made the announcement at about 6:05 today at a news conference in the Vermont town of Bethel. Police say they found the remains at about 4:45pm near the home of her uncle, Michael Jacques. Jacques remains a "person of interest" in his niece's apparent death ///////////////////////////////////////Justice Dept. Admits Error in Not Briefing Court New York Times, by Linda Greenhouse................ WASHINGTON — In a highly unusual admission of error, the Justice Department acknowledged on Wednesday that government lawyers should have known that Congress had recently made the rape of a child a capital offense in the military and should have informed the Supreme Court of that fact while the justices were considering whether death was a constitutional punishment for the crime...................... Yo takisha, did you ever hear of the budget deficit? How about the national debt? Who do you think is ever going to pay that off, and where do you think the money is going to come from? When did pawning off our obligations on our kids become a virtue? People used to think that we could shrink the government by "starving the beast". I bet government would start shrinking a whole lot faster if people really had to pay the bill when it was due instead of just borrowing and making our kids pay for it.

I took advantage of The Inky's deal for thirteen weeks. What amazes me is how many trees have to be sacrificed in order to get all of those full paged ads printed. Most of the news is like day old bread, edible but not right out of the oven. The opinion sections have no mystery to them. All one needs to do is read the columnist's name and the title of the opinion piece and voila you're done. I do think that that last section to go will be the obits. Reading the obits is like reading mini biographies.
