John McCain has been around so long he actually remembers the Maine -- and he's still pissed. Didn't he promise he'd be like Teddy Roosevelt.
Was out of pocket all day and I am just catching up...keep talking
Details, details. So what if Putin isn't really the president of Germany. So what if Zapatero isn't a Mexican guerrilla fighter. What really counts is the financial crisis, and McCain explained that he'll fix that problem by firing the head of the SEC. Oh....wait..... Talking point sleuth

Right, because people who disagree with you are stupid? Please explain why it's an IQ test. Ramon
Talking Point Memo. Interesting. Is this one of the sites you lefties go to for grist? Seriously, did any of you have a clue as to who Zapatero was? And what percentage of the Dem electorate could find Spain on a map? I'll bet the over/under would be 10%. I'd take the under. Chris Cox said that the SEC has zero tolerance for naked short selling. Do you believe him, TPS? Go Phils! A Friend
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2008/09/17/politics/p185733D40.DTL&type=politics In Elko, Obama tried to anticipate his critics and called on the crowd of about 1,500 to sharpen their elbows, too. "I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face," he said. [end excerpt] Boy, just what we need in this day and age of incivility in politics - a presidential candidate encouraging this. db_cooper

" Funny, TPD, I don't recall you making similar comments when Obama said he would bring Russia's invasion of Georgia before the UN Security Council ... where Russia has a veto. db_cooper
Ironically, I have seen Will in front of the Inquirer building asking for spare change with that very same coffee cup. ColonelAngus

Right, db, becuase we'd rather have our troops dying from Russian bullets than have Russia's legitimacy dying from its isolation in the Security Council. Last I checked, Russian vetos weren't lethal.
- ".......SHOCKING. A DEMONCRAT." . . . . . LOL, Swifty's been waiting all night and all day for this news. Patience is a virtue, eh?
McCain does nto want to committ to sitting down personally with an anti-American foreign leader who has had an openly hostile relationship with the current administration. Does this really offend you, Will? bon
Actually, db, you're right. This kind of gotcha stuff is garbage. But first, it is pretty funny, and second, I notice that you haven't held back one iota. For all your calling for Will to be more even-handed in his blog posting, claiming that he's become a mouthpiece for Obama talking points, you have really gone nutso for McCain. I mean seriously, I can always tell what was on Hannity last night by reading your posts. Which is pretty funny, given that you were so critical of McCain during the primaries - and now he's a "maverick" who's going to put "fear" in the hearts of Washington insiders, in fact, one might say that you're portrayal of him is "messianic." Of particular note in that regard it is pretty ironic that the very same folks who criticized him for stepping outside the Republican mainstream (on the issues of campaign finance reform, immigration, etc.) are now promoting his campaign because he's a "reformer." Even more ironic is that they're doing so even as he repudiates each of the policies stances that put him outside the Republican mainstream. You couldn't make this stuff up. Talking point sleuth
