While I was stuck in traffic tonight caused mainly by the Phillies and less so by a Temple-Villanova football game at the Linc, I had a lot of time to ponder why the pigskin matchup is called The Mayor's Cup and why Mayor Nutter is handing out a trophy to the winner, when....one of the teams isn't from the city of Philadelphia!!! Too bad there's no other Division 1-AA team, like Villanova, that actually plays in Philad.....hmmmmm.
That's weird. I'm sure there's a backstory why those two teams can't or won't play.
Also, good scheduling, that, in having a college football game the same time that Tim Lincecum is throwing (against the Phillies) across the street and Michael Vick is throwing or running or whatever he does on a million TV screens. At least J-Tann is watching the college game so that you don't have to.

AND NOW BACK TO THE NEWS: unemployment hits 9.7%, a 26 year high.(thanks Obama "stimulus" plan.) Van Jones, 9/11 truther, will be gone by Monday according to Charles Krauthammer(you must have missed that scoop Wilbur). Open revolt of left wing wackos against Obama over public option that Democrat Senator Baucus said is DOA. When Rush said I hope Obama fails, I don't even think he meant at this many things.
