A quarterback change is a bigger story for the Daily News than a change in the Oval Office -- I was working last night and came uo with a ton of front-page headlines, none of which were used. Feel free to add your own:
Downsized! (picture of McNabb)
McNabb Futures Plummet
The Change We Need (Kolb)
Tie, Kolb.....What Next?
Kevin and Hell
4 minus 5 = -1
I'm not going to be online as much as usual this week, and neither will you. Posting will be lighter than normal. This is an open thread -- document any and all atrocities from the world of politics, not-as-big-as-before business, and sports.

So, now Citi bites the dust, who or what is next?
I can only hope Reid sticks with Kolb and gives this kid some real experience. And the birds need to look long and hard at their OL. It was once a great strength of the team. Now they look less than ordinary.
There's no leadership on that team either. The veterans are just mailing it in.
Here's a shot at a few. Reid confirms rumors that he’s an idiot. m Reid this: Buh Biyee. Reid flips Donovan the Bird. Bird brain comes up empty.
"The veterans are just mailing it in." Reid's unceremoniously cut so many of them int he past, so its hardly a shocker they want to back this sinking ship.
When's the last time a veteran that he cut loose could actually play? The only one I can think of is Derrick Burgess. Alan Rossum, maybe, but he was a young player at the time. Going forward, their biggest problem (outside the ? at QB) is the offensive line. It's just gone downhill. I guess if they had Shawn Andrews in the lineup, some of those infamous short yardage plays could have gone differently. Now that I mention it (Yeah ME) it's all Andrews' fault!
I think the beginning of the end was 2006. After that season, asss't coaches like childress and spagnola left. The next year harbough left and the replacements are not even close to being as effective.
Mg - not exactly "cut loose," but they did trade Al Harris while he could still play. What did they get with that 2nd round pick? Anyway, it's time to turn the page. Andy's benching of McCnabb was an aspect of desperation. Clearly, Reid is grasping at straws. No clue. He had no plan, just like he never has a plan. BTW, MG, interesting, isn't it, that you were defending the Eagles while harping on the Phillies for not being willing to do what it takes to bring Philly a championship. I understand why you said that about the Phils - and never expected them to win the world series, but it is pretty funny how it all turned out.
"So, now Citi bites the dust, who or what is next?---}}} There are a lot of other shoes left to drop. There's a whole lot of debt out there that hasn't been revealed yet. CFOs have been sitting on tons o' undisclosed debt.
TPS,
Not to mention the biggest gorilla of them all, personal credit card debt carried by most American households. How many people with Citi cards are going to think "hell, if they're going down, I might as well max myself out?" That is, those who are not already at that point.
Trotter woulda helped against TB in that NFC Champ, when receivers and TEs were catching and running clear across the middle of the field. Instead, Trotter was frnachised (waste of a tag) only to be cut, and alter brought back. He also franchised C Simon, to cut him shortly after. I also think Hugh had a little something left.

"There are a lot of other shoes left to drop." Problem is the spiral effect as well. Bad econ means lay offs which equals more foreclosures, more debt gone bad, less consumer spending, which in turn equals more lay offs.
I've always been a McNabb supporter, but in yesterday's 2nd half he turned my stomach. He didn't show an ounce of support for Kolb. He stood by himself on the sideline...he didn't seem to want to interact with teammates...he didn't offer any veteran advice to the young QB while the game was still winnable. I always thought that he was a class act...now I'm beginning to wonder.
Well legatus, he coulda chose to stay away from Reid, who didn't even bother to tell him to his face that he was benched.
