"The system has failed us"

POSTED: Tuesday, October 11, 2011, 5:13 PM

My friend Ari Rabin-Havt from Media Matters (where I'm a senior fellow...at least that's what I've read recently) has written one of the best pieces I've read so far on the Occupy Wall Street movement. Here's a snippet:

f those in the media casting aspersions on the protestors had spent a decade covering the underlying problems with our economy, instead of cheerleading the housing bubble; worked to expose the lies that led our country to war, instead of taking an administration at its word; and not allow themselves to be manipulated by political and media figures whose goal was simply to distort our political processes, there might not be a need to Occupy Wall Street. Instead the dreadlocked girl is still right -- we need a new system.

Hey, remember how I said blogging would be very light this week? I wasn't kidding.

Will Herman Cain be more vetted than the President? Will the President EVER be vetted by the media?

//Will Herman Cain be more vetted than the President? ///

They've already asked Cain at least two tough questions. So it's apparent he has already been vetted more than our current President.

If those in the media casting aspersions at the Tea party had spent the last 5 years understanding that the economy was doing pretty well before '06 ,despite the worst attacks in the history of this country, when the Dems took over and allowed Dodd and Frank, et al to lie about Fannie and Freddie while ignoring the warnings about the housing bubble from folks like Mccain; worked to actually prove their lies about Bush, 9/11 and tell us why we shouldn't go into Afghanistan and how the world would be a better place with Saddam still in it; and not allowed themselves to be maniuplated into believing those who pushed a politician/community organizer with absolutely no experience down our throats. There might not be a need for the Tea Party. But the natty dreadlocked congo bongo I girl is almost right- we need a new President to change this current system of idiotic policies and get us back to what has worked long before folks like this girl were around and trashing up the country!!

Just curious, but why don't the occupiers have one sign.... ...one sign denouncing Obama and his 'Merry Men'? (as in Robin Hood).

....lies that led us to war.... What, the lies that Kerry told about Iraq's WMD? The lies Clinton and Gore told about Iraq's WMD? Surely not the lies that Kennedy told about Iraq's WMDs. Nope, this Soros tool has it all worked out. He's got inside information that none of the world's intelligence services had. How foolish we all were to think that a country that had previously used WMDs on it's own people would have WMDs.

"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force -- if necessary -- to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security."

Actually, Rufus - plenty of OWS signs are critical of Obama.

    A serious question.

Do you ever get anything right?
