I'm back -- did I miss anything? Hmmmm. Looks like I picked the wrong day to quit sniffing glue.

John Kerry is still the annoying guy who can drone on while some dude in his audience is getting tasered -- but he hit a home run with this comment:

"Wright said nothing new this week" ------- This shows you have no connection with reality.

"People trying to equate Obama's previous reaction with the latest one are ignoring the basic fact that Rev. Wright made additional comments in the interim. It only makes sense that Obama's stance should change based on the new developments. Previously, the controversy was about comments that were 7+ years old. "

puhleez. Wright said nothing new this week -- and what he did say was far less offensive than what he'd said previously. And his "Hillary ain't never been called a n****r" speech wasn't seven years ago -- and was just as, if not more, offensive, than anything he said the last few days. Obama supporters need to stop rewriting history, and pretending that Reverend Wright said anything that was out of character for him the last few days. Wright made the mistake of saying the same stuff he's always said to his congregation without toning it down for "white" audiences. Wright personified his "different, not deficient" message by simply being himself -- the person that Barack Obama has known for 20 years -- rather than pretend to be someone he is not for Obama's benefit.

Sorry. I must admit, I made a big error in my previous post. I assumed that Xi Jah is a male. I should have said "S/he" writes a comment...."

Yet another brilliant display of Attytood Republican sycophant logic. Ok everyone, pay close attention. Anyone find the logical fallacy?..... ....It's cause your point, like most of them, is unworthy of comment. ...Brilliant. He writes a comment in response to my post, telling me that my posts aren't worthy of comment. LOL!!

can you imagine if John McCain was tied this closely to a loon like Rev Wright???? ----- Notice the careful parsing of this statement. McCain courts a slew of nutjob preachers on a par with Wright and refuses to denounce them. Yet notice that idiot, ocjones, Xi Jah, b.at(ch) never comment on those issues. Obama denounces first the words, and then Wright himself. Oh. But he's not as closely tied to a loon. Another joke of a thread. The frightwingers here couldn't care less about what Wright did or didn't say - they would never consider Obama a viable candidate anyway. Their only focus is to enjoy the effect this "scandal" has on Obama's campaign. I'm sure that there are many Americans who are legitimately concerned about Obama's ties to Wright - but it's my hope that they'll see balancing aspects of Obama's "character." As a primary example, his refusal to promote the boondoggle of a "gas tax holiday," which is nothing more than bad policy spun by panderers.

People trying to equate Obama's previous reaction with the latest one are ignoring the basic fact that Rev. Wright made additional comments in the interim. It only makes sense that Obama's stance should change based on the new developments. Previously, the controversy was about comments that were 7+ years old. Now, the controversy is about comments that were made last weekend. That fundamentally changes things, but ignoring facts is just part and parcel of being a hater.

Barack was hailed by his supporters as a heroic figure back when he refused to make a break with his radical priest over his hate-filled diatribes. Now Barack's supporters are hailing him as a heroic figure for denouncing Wright for those very same hate-filled rants. The difference? Those troublesome polls may be one reason. Wright's implication that Barack is a politician who knows what he has to say to get along may be another reason. Political courage? Unh unh!

"Why in the world would Kerry need to do that?"

he shouldn't feel the need to do it. But he apparently felt the need to denounce Wrights comments now that Obama has -- and if those comments were offensive enough to denouce after Obama threw Wright under the bus, they should have been offensive enough to denounce right away.

Obama supporters have been contorting themselves into pretzels on the question of Wright for ages -- aven before Obama gave "the greatest speech on race EVAH!!!" Wright had said nothing especially surprising or outrageous in those few days. What Wright did was personify his "different, not deficient" message -- he went out and spoke to a bunch of white reporters without tailoring his message to a white audience. And that is why Obama threw him under the bus.

Glad to see that the war was paid for by Iraqi oil! No need to burden the American people with the cost. And we've managed to reduce Iran's influence in the region, as well! Oh, wait...

"Oh, and oddly enough, I didn't see Kerry denouncing Wright's speech ASAP" ---- Why in the world would Kerry need to do that? Is it his duty to denounce speeches of crazy people across the country? Nope. It'd take him 10 years just to get through all the crazy people in DC...

What qualifies as a profile in courage? Saying you've been sleep deprived because of the speech you've been making for months doesn't really qualify. Acknowledging the rev's role in his life, in spite of continuously bringing a different message than the rev's, probably took more guts than just running away, like everybody wanted him to do.

In the words of the great Barack, I think John effin' Kerry is trying to "bamboozle" us. Barack seemed to find his radical priest's words annoying until his old buddy seemed to imply that Barack was just a "politician" (gulp!) At that point Barack had no other choice but to dump the guy. A real profile in courage that Obama.

C'mon Will. Kerry may have been correct in telling the media that its time to change the subject, but his rationale (that Obama had his second Presidential moment, blah, blah, blah..) doesn't qualify for "getting it right." If you want to move on, you move on, you don't defend your guy and THEN insist that everyone else move on. And that is what Kerry did. Oh, and oddly enough, I didn't see Kerry denouncing Wright's speech ASAP --- Wright has only become a "problem" because the ObamaCult leader has decreed that Wright is now a problem for him.
