Stopped clocks and John Kerry are right sometimes -- today's open thread

I'm back -- did I miss anything? Hmmmm. Looks like I picked the wrong day to quit sniffing glue.

John Kerry is still the annoying guy who can drone on while some dude in his audience is getting tasered -- but he hit a home run with this comment:

C'mon Will. Kerry may have been correct in telling the media that its time to change the subject, but his rationale (that Obama had his second Presidential moment, blah, blah, blah..) doesn't qualify for "getting it right." If you want to move on, you move on, you don't defend your guy and THEN insist that everyone else move on. And that is what Kerry did. Oh, and oddly enough, I didn't see Kerry denouncing Wright's speech ASAP --- Wright has only become a "problem" because the ObamaCult leader has decreed that Wright is now a problem for him.

In the words of the great Barack, I think John effin' Kerry is trying to "bamboozle" us. Barack seemed to find his radical priest's words annoying until his old buddy seemed to imply that Barack was just a "politician" (gulp!) At that point Barack had no other choice but to dump the guy. A real profile in courage that Obama.

What qualifies as a profile in courage? Saying you've been sleep deprived because of the speech you've been making for months doesn't really qualify. Acknowledging the rev's role in his life, in spite of continuously bringing a different message than the rev's, probably took more guts than just running away, like everybody wanted him to do.

Will, with all due respect, the real issue is the corner the Dems have painted themselves into. They are stuck with a man that is unelectable because he wasn't properly vetted...he puts states in play (like PA, Wisconsin, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana) that are must haves for the dems to have any chance....and they can't throw him over the transom because they will permenantly alienate their most reliable voting bloc. Instead of trying to change the subject that won't change dems should go back to the drawing board and figure out how to pick presidential candidates starting in 2012 so you don't get stuck with these albotrosses like Obama or losers like Kerry.

Happy Mission Accomplished Day, peoples! We were greeted as liberators and democracy is flowering across the Middle East! Oh, wait...

God, I love this woman: "If it takes Obama 20 years to notice that his pastor is a traitorous, racist nut-job, it will probably take him his full term of office to realize that the U.S. has been invaded and subdued by al-Qaida. Let's just hope President Obama pays closer attention during national security briefings than he did during 20 years of the Rev. Wright's church services".

Looking forward to the "10,000 black men" anniversary this year. Crime has been reduced since they......oh, wait.

"Oh, and oddly enough, I didn't see Kerry denouncing Wright's speech ASAP" ---- Why in the world would Kerry need to do that? Is it his duty to denounce speeches of crazy people across the country? Nope. It'd take him 10 years just to get through all the crazy people in DC...

The Fumo thread just disappeared......

Glad to see that the war was paid for by Iraqi oil! No need to burden the American people with the cost. And we've managed to reduce Iran's influence in the region, as well! Oh, wait...

"Why in the world would Kerry need to do that?"

he shouldn't feel the need to do it. But he apparently felt the need to denounce Wrights comments now that Obama has -- and if those comments were offensive enough to denouce after Obama threw Wright under the bus, they should have been offensive enough to denounce right away.

Obama supporters have been contorting themselves into pretzels on the question of Wright for ages -- aven before Obama gave "the greatest speech on race EVAH!!!" Wright had said nothing especially surprising or outrageous in those few days. What Wright did was personify his "different, not deficient" message -- he went out and spoke to a bunch of white reporters without tailoring his message to a white audience. And that is why Obama threw him under the bus.

Barack was hailed by his supporters as a heroic figure back when he refused to make a break with his radical priest over his hate-filled diatribes. Now Barack's supporters are hailing him as a heroic figure for denouncing Wright for those very same hate-filled rants. The difference? Those troublesome polls may be one reason. Wright's implication that Barack is a politician who knows what he has to say to get along may be another reason. Political courage? Unh unh!

People trying to equate Obama's previous reaction with the latest one are ignoring the basic fact that Rev. Wright made additional comments in the interim. It only makes sense that Obama's stance should change based on the new developments. Previously, the controversy was about comments that were 7+ years old. Now, the controversy is about comments that were made last weekend. That fundamentally changes things, but ignoring facts is just part and parcel of being a hater.
