Ringing out 2011 with Attytood's song of the year: "MoneyGrabber" by Fitz and the Tantrums

Don't comeback anytime, I've already had your kind
This is your pay back, money grabber

Don't come back anytime, you've already robbed me blind
this is your pay back, money grabber

-- "MoneyGrabber," by Fitz and the Tantrums

OK, technically this incredible blue-eyed soul song of the 21st Century came out in late 2010, but it didn't get much attention until this year, and you can also debate whether it's about a love gone bad or...Goldman Sachs, but I'm going to go with the latter interpretation.

2011 was the year that the 99 Percent put the moneygrabbers on notice, and 2012 is the year that we cast them out. I don't actually know how that will happen in an election between Wall Street darling Mitt Romney and Wall Street darling Barack Obama, but it's a new year and I have an irrational faith that good things are going to happen. I hope you do, too.. and that you have a safe and happy holiday weekend.

See you in 2012 for the end of the world...as we know it.

Latest USA Today poll only 19% of Americans call themselves liberal... frankly I'm amazed its that high.

Yoiu heard it here first: Pantload has resolved to do real research and publish cogent, realistic columns about Solyndra, Fast and Furious. Also, will take an honest position on the pipeline.

Best wishes to all for 2012, even you Sophist (MSL).

Happy New Year to all the posters on Attytood. Especially my favorite lefties: Hamster, Cissy Spurns Deodorant, TPOS, Monte Simper Lefty, sicko-of-the-moment and Murraywoman. And a special New Year greeting for our anarchistic blogger in chief, Will Bunch.

"Those whom take money out of the system to save and invest, create long term wealth." . . . btw Fisher, if money is out of the system (buried in your matress?) then it's not creating anything. Jesus had a wonderful parable about that, you know. But if you mean saved and invested in the economy, then it's necessarily being spent by somebody. You seriously need a lesson in simple economics.

Finally, the wanker quote of the year: "I've been on food stamps and welfare, did anybody help me out?"

"Under Will's assumptions, the only way to live, is to spend." . . . That's been the corporate mantra ever since the last world war - go shopping! But I agree with your point Fisher. I especially admire the communal economics of the Amish of LanCo, from which we could learn much. We're prisoners of consumerism gone mad. It's typical of dying cultures throughout history.

There's a hell of a lot of people who wish you would try MSL, not that anybody believes you would ever succeed but wish you would try.

Iggle, by your logic, shouldn't Sweden be as barbaric as Afghanistan by now? And where are all the refugees one would expect from Canada? In Philly?

Meanwhile, liberal stalwart Philadelphia has been nick-named "kill-a-delphia" because it has the highest murder rate out of all of the major cities in the US -- more than 3x higher than NYC... Nice. Proof positive that liberal policies in action must work extremely well.

    OWS are everywhere.
    They do not forgive
    They do not forget
    Expect them!
    — Hamlet

So what are you tough clowns going to do? Form a brownshirt brigade and drag people who disagree with you out of their homes, put them in boxcars and ship them off to reeducation camps? Heil Hamlet!

It's amazing that anyone questions the wisdom of Republican policy. We had Republican control of Congress and the presidency between 2000-06 and look where we were by 2008: unprecedented economic success.

Under Will's assumptions, the only way to live, is to spend. What a weak minded fool. Those whom take money out of the system to save and invest, create long term wealth. Never mind the ability of companies, banks and all of society to prosper. The magically link between ideation, perspiration and new product or service is capital investment from someone or some entity who has savings. Will your assumptions make people poorer, that makes your the criminal you least want to be.

Batty thinks the only members of OWS are the protestors that are physically occupying. As usual he is clueless. OWS are everywhere.

Big time Wall Streeters are working hand in hand with the Permanent Political Class and Government Rich - doesn't matter who's in the White House - we're screwed.

Palmy, you apparently missed Frank Luntz's RGA seminar. Like, don't say 'capitalism' or 'middle class', not if you're Republican anyway. But I suspect OWS will fade as the economy improves, and the election could be a yawner like 96. It may only be a temporary lull, so don't put away the drums kids. There won't be any real systemic change. Capitalism will continue to outsource the empire. We'll still have to face the inevitable - a global revolution of the tech-empowered common man. So here's my ode to 2011 and the new year - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VyJBNZ4i4Yc&feature=related

Those who earned their money like Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, etc. are part of the 1% that wants to give back to the society.

The Wall Street germs and worthless CEO's that earn 10,000 times more than average employees want to hold on to their money as they know they don't have other ways to make that money other than legally robbing others. They don't have the creative capability to start a new business or invent something.

Bunch, not all 1%ers are evil or money grubbers... Frankly, I don't think the Occupy movement had any impact.
