Obama's (terrorist fist) bump

POSTED: Sunday, September 9, 2012, 10:07 PM

So the American public was a lot more impressed by the Democratic convention than I was -- wow! I think it was 70 percent Bill, 25 percent Michelle and 5 percent Barack...what do you think?

Actually, maybe it was 90 percent Mitt. I think not discussing the troops in his speech was maybe the biggest error of omission I've ever seen in big-league politics. And he's not going to come back with days like this.

It was such a huge error of omission, it took Debbie Wasserman Schultz two whole weeks to send that out to the JournoList?

Well, to be fair and balanced, he didn't mention draft-dodging college missionaries to France either.

Clinton's speech was outstanding. Bill Clinton picked apart the Republican platform of lies and subterfuge in detail. I was reminded of how the GOP was telling the country that was the "worst president ever" during his 2 terms. "Who cares about the economy, he's immoral. He's a liar", they said. Fast forward to 2012, and I'm hearing the same nonsense coming from the Fright Wing about how Obama is "destroying America".

"Socialist", "Kenyan", "Muslim", "messiah", "mperor", "destroying our freedoms", "palling around with terrorists", and the list goes on. A common Charge leveled by the GOP is that Obama is dividing the country. Laughable.

Now they trot out Mitt Romney, attempting to sell us the very same policies that put us in this predicament IN THE FIRST PLACE. Cut taxes for those who don't need it. Declare that your campaign will not be held accoutable by "fact checkers". Complain about the "librul media". Threaten to attack Iran. And the refrain from the Rabid Right is that "Obama is the worst president ever". THERE THEY GO AGAIN! Of course, we'll only hear this line until the next Democratic president is sworn into office. Probably in 2016.

Gotta hand it to the GOP...when it comes to the politics of personal destruction, and putting party ahead of country, and outright lying to the American voters, republicans are the best!

Clinton showed he can still bring it. Most of the other speakers were a joke (especially Sandra Fluke), but the rest were on their game. The First Lady had a great speech, and both her's and Clinton's made the president's seem flat.

I found that all of the speeches were real flat on specifics regarding plans for the next four years, something Romney got ripped for but the media was eerily silent regarding Obama doing the same thing.

The basic premise of the who convention was "Republicans bad bad bad." I'm not sure how well that will fly.

@wokmaster- Talk about tired refrains... I know, I know, the Reps drove the car into the ditch and Barry doesn't want to give them back the keys. Reps ordered the steak dinner and then left Barry to pay the bill.

The Emperor is real good at coming up with analogies to blame Bush.

Amusing to hear the GOP complain about unemployment and the debt. Under 12 years of Reagan and Bush 1, republicans quadrupled the debt. Clinton worked with congress to leave 4 staright surpluses for President Bush 2. Democrats even rallied behind him in a surge of patriotism after 9/11. Bush and his republican cohorts branded any dissent to the invasion of Iraq as "soft on terror", while doubling the debt again in 8 years. The unemployment rate of 4.2% that he inherited balloned to 7.6% AND ON THE RISE when he left office. Where was the surge of patriotism for Obama when we were on the brink of an economic catasrophe? See my last post. What a disingenuous bunch!

It's really amazing how the Democrat Patty has become the more moderate party, almost identical to the GOP of the mid 80's.

    Dick Morris.....bwahahaha........

Gallup and Rasmussen have Obama up for points. Mittens actually lost points. I guess picking a pathological liar to be his running mate wasn't such a good idea.

what about every other poll? are they also getting roughed up? Rasmussen- Obama up by 4 points. Whatever you do, don't look at the state polling. Better for you to stick your head in the sand like an ostrich and we will let you know when it's over.

@wokmaster- of those 12 years for Reagan and Bush Sr., how many did the Republicans control both chambers of Congress? Answer- none. How many years did the Republicans control the House in those 12 years? Answer- none.

It appears that your yardstick for who gets blame for increasing the debt is the Presidency except when it comes to Barry, who has had the benefit of controlling both chambers of Congress. For Barry though, he gets to blame Bush and everything else under the sun.

Alternatively, Clinton ALONE (instead of the Republican controlled Congress for the last 6 years of his presidency) gets the CREDIT for bringing down the deficit.

I guess like with other things on the left, who gets the blame and the credit is relative to the narrative it needs to fit...
