"Nothing." "I would also do nothing."

"Nothing." "I would also do nothing."

Last night "Saturday Night Live" did a pretty good job sending up the most recent presidential debate, especially the Long Islanders in the town hall whose questions were chosen, according to Fake Candy Crowley, based on "the severity of their accents."

The most biting satire came when a women asked what President Obama and Mitt Romney would do to get dangerous assault rifles off the streets.

"Nothing," said Fake Romney.

"I also would do nothing," chiped Fake Onama.

Reality was only slightly less comical, with Obama saying why even worry about assault weapons when so many people in his hometown of Chicago are using your garden-variety handgun, while Romney said basically that guns don't kill people, single-parent households kill people.

It all got even less funny today:

Three people were killed and four wounded when a gunman opened fire at a suburban Milwaukee spa Sunday, Brookfield Police Chief Dan Tushaus said.

A manhunt was underway for the suspect, Radcliffe Franklin Haughton, 45. An improved explosive device was found at the Azana Salon and Spa, Tushaus said.

Police, sheriff's deputies and a bomb detection team were on the scene, Brookfield Police Lt. John Beth told the Associated Press.

To be clear, we don't know what weapon was used in today's carnage. We do know that Wisconsin has some of the weakest gun laws in the United States, and that it was just 10 weeks ago, and a mere 20 miles away, that a man with a semi-automatic pistol killed six worshippers at a Sikh temple and wounded a police officer.

We also know that whatever comes out in the end about today's mass shooting in Wisconsinj, our leaders will do nothing. And that is no joke.
