Not everyone named Dobbs is an idiot -- today's open thread

Does Greg counteract Lou? Does Private Dobbs from "F-Troop" break the tie?

Discuss this -- or more pressing matters.

Calling Lou Dobbs an idiot is way beneath you Will. His concerns regarding how illegal immigration is screwing this country, and the gutting of the middle class, are shared by many people, both Liberal and Conservative. Whie he is shrill at times, the issue is one that is being avoided by all of the hacks running for President this year. But I guess thats lost on you in your abject fawning of Obama. Signed a disgusted Democrat.

Speaking of fawning over Obama, what's up with that Reuter's/Zogby poll? No way Obama can have 8 points over McCain. That would mean people are actually paying attention to the real issues. How is that conceivably possible????

Kerry had bigger leads over Bush at this time 4 yrs ago....I wouldn't worry about it.

Hey Xi, I thought Bush wasn't running this year. Are you suggesting he is via McCain?

Classic.

Because clearly, it's much better to be behind in the polls than ahead. I mean, leading McCain by a considerable margin is only further proof of what Xi always says: Obama is unelectable. Right? Of course, the evidence that McCain is less electable than Obama. I guess no one will win then, eh?

Will didn't say why he thinks Dobbs is an idiot. It's possible to be right on the issues but still be an idiot.

"Will didn't say why he thinks Dobbs is an idiot. It's possible to be right on the issues but still be an idiot." That's pure gold. This blog is a national treasure.

What makes Dobbs an idiot is not the causes he champions, it's the ridiculous way he pursues them. I remember some border patrol incident where a couple of border guard shot and killed some suspect. Dobbs thaought they were heroes because the guy turned out to be a smuggler, even though there was no way the guards could have known it at the time. The guards were prosecuted and convicted on the facts of the case, facts which were inconsequential to Dobbs. I'll have him on my tv and listen for a while, but eventually he goes off on some rant and I tune out. While he and the guest are talking about markets and business, he's very interesting, but when he goes off the reservation, he goes way off the reservation.

So, only a week after Bush tells the Knesset that "Some seem to believe that we should negotiate with the terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along", along comes news today that Israel is formally opening peace talks with Syria - not through the US but through Turkey. Ouch.

I guess I need to spell it out for our challenged sychophantic dumbocrats (how'd you like that TPS)?.....Polls don't mean nuthin' at this time. Geeze...is it that difficult?
Posted by shoeshineboy 12:09 PM, 05/21/2008
Since Ryan Howard is the next Doc Gooden....if Dobbs' career fizzles, will that make him Kevin Elster?

"Polls don't mean nuthin' at this time." . . . . . . . . . . . Nope, that wasn't difficult at all, Xi. It can be stated whenever the polls aren't going your way without the least bit of thought.

SteveMG expanded perfectly on what I was getting at. Is Steve's post also pure gold, b?

Since it seems a lot of people lie to pollsters about voting for black candidates I wouldn't get too excited by Obama being up by 8%. Hopefully, when Hillary finally gives up, Obama's lead will grow.
