No blood in ants

POSTED: Thursday, October 7, 2010, 8:24 PM

So it begins....ah.

Needles and pins...ah.

Somehow I suspect there's more to this story than the one paragraph that's been published so far. UPDATE: Scratch that, here's more, including...

Marimow was told by the company's new management Wednesday that despite his national reputation as a leading print journalist, he did not have the digital background to lead the paper going forward. Marimow delivered the news in a late-afternoon meeting with newsroom managers.

The old new editor or the new new editor? Maybe he can travel back in time and fix everything in 2006 before the lightning bolt hits the tower at 400 North Broad Street.

Swifty, have you ever actually ever read an actual leftist blog. I mean, I'm a very left leaning individual, but when I want to reinforce my own views, I check actual leftist sites. Otherwise, I use a variety of left-leaning, right-leaning, and moderate sources for information. Of course, the facts and statistics are usually lacking in the right winger articles.

swifty has a hard time reading anything that doesn't have big pictures and real short sentences. His favorite is a bush autographed copy of "My Pet Goat."

The insufficient digital background excuse is a load of nonsense. It's a shame.

The Inky always strives for political balance. That's why they have so many local conservative columnists. What's that you say, there's only Kevin Ferris? Never mind.

It's a fact Will, that the site needs a few tweaks, and I'm sorry an old gruff newspaperman with a fedora and a half smoked cigar and little bound notebook cannot survive in today's world. You guys are dead and don't even know it yet. The site is put together poorly and the functionality is terrible. The sports section is abysmal. I'm sure you political folks don't read the sports but I do and the layout is brutal. What's up with the auto-play commercials?

Change Will... it's good thing... right? Or does hope need to be tagged to it cause we all know hope and change go together, at least that's what the Inquirer and DN shoved down are throats last election. And that worked great. Didn't it?

David Simon worked with Marimow while he was at the Baltimore Sun and had an incompetent lieutenant in The Wire with the same name.

I see the Fascist blog Atlas Shrugs is trying to start a boycott of Campbell soups because they have a line of soups that conform to Islamic rules for cooking, just like the K and Pareve certifications.

Next thing she is going to starrt a boycott of all numbers since our numbering system is Arabic.

The demotion could not have happen to a better guy. Maybe now he can take a job for one of the weekly papers trying to relive his glory days.

Effin filter! Les, check out this clip with an insane GOP candidate. I wanted to describe is insane beliefs, but they keep getting caught in the Attytood filter. But you should watch the clip - it's incredibly entertaining.

Also, he's a big time marketer of racist books for home schoolers.

    Wow!

Not sure what else needs to be said about sloboat's intellect, sophistication, or level of maturity.

That pretty much says it all.

Thanks for the clip TPS, very entertaining indeed.

Poor Swifty McVeteran, I think he just came out of the closet. But that is okay, Swifty, this isnt Christine O'Donnell's world or even Jim DeMints, what you do behind closed doors is actually your own business.

I went to your link, TPS and all it shows is the header for the Rachel Maddow blog. I can think of very few things worse than reading that shrieking hag's blog. Since we seem to be having fun insulting unelectable candidates, let me add one to the list: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/06/10/AR2010061002499.html I haven't seen ANYTHING from our hearty liberals admitting that this buffoon couldn't get elected as dog catcher.

"In previous years we would have been breaking out the champagne on this news: The monthly budget review released yesterday by the Congressional Budget Office estimated that the federal budget deficit fell by $125 billion from 2009 to 2010. This by far is the biggest one-year nominal drop in the deficit that has ever occurred."

Oh wait, this wont count because of it was on the black guy's watch. Nevermind.

Allow me to finish Les' cut and paste from http://www.capitalgainsandgames.com/blog/stan-collender/1986/pop-cork-biggest-deficit-reduction-us-history-occurred-2009-2010?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+VoxBaby+(Vox+Baby). "There were two primary reasons there was no cheering yesterday.

First, it's not at all clear that reducing the deficit was the correct fiscal policy given the slow growth in the U.S. economy.

Second, in the current political atmosphere even a 50 percent reduction would have still left lots of room for those who want to do so to use the deficit as an issue. To those folks, the $125 billion reduction simply isn't as important as the $1.29 trillion deficit that's available for campaign fodder.

In other words, the $125 billion reduction in the deficit was both too much and not enough."

    Additional info:
"the federal budget deficit for the year was slightly less than $1.3 trillion, $125 billion less than the shortfall recorded in 2009. Relative to the size of the economy, the 2010 deficit was the second-highest shortfall—and 2009 the highest—since 1945."

Les also doesn't mention the fact that the deficit in 2009 was more than twice the deficit of 2008.

I see Les is stealing TPOS's main tactic of accusing anybody not agreeing with him as 'racist', the two of them are such a class act, real dyed in the wool liberals no wonder 80% of the population wants nothing to do with them.
