Mr. President, please do something about this disaster!

POSTED: Tuesday, June 15, 2010, 10:11 PM

The president addressed the nation from the Oval Office last night and didn't offer one word on how he would stop the catastrophe now unfolding in the Bronx and threatening to spread to South Philadelphia. Not a word on capping the Phillies' liabilities, and nothing on alternative sources of energy for Chase Utley or Jayson Werth.

Worst. Defending. National. League. Champions. Ever.

Vote Domonic Brown in 2012...until then we're screwed.

Manuel should just follow BO's example and give a speech.

so once again, rather than address the ineptitude that is this president’s response to what is going on in the gulf, will switches to his typical bandwagon, knee jerk, know nothing, “send howard to lakewood” reaction on the phils. at least he hasnt complained about beck in a while, because you know, as a political commentator (though i’ll be the first to agree he is a nut) he is destroying this country, you know with all the power he wields as a political commentator… because any of the problems certainly couldnt be the responsibility of the current congress and president right?

At least Obama is finnaly meeting with BP officials to discuss ways to combat the spill, my problem is isnt twenty minutes a little bit to short?. Hopefully he can forget for twenty minutes that the British jailed his father in Kenya for terrorism, but we wont hold our breath. Perhaps thats where he gets his dislike of whites in general and the British in paticular from his Mau Mau terrorist father.

"Worst. Defending. National. League. Champions. Ever." Will, are your ankles sore from jumping off the bandwagon?? Mmaybe you should follow the advice of Principle McGee, "if you can't be in athlete, be an athetic supporter."

Good point, Greg. Will punts on BO's ineptitude, probably working on yet another piece bagging on Beck or Palin, who we will be told are really to blame for the Gulf disaster.

"Worst. Defending. National. League. Champions. Ever." You gotta be kidding. Do you think they are worse than the 1998 Marlins who went 54-108, after winning the World Series in 1997?

legatus - I was going to go with the 1974 Mets (71-91 5th of 6 in NL East) but I think you topped that squad. But can we say the Mets are the "Worst Defending.National League.Champions.Ever" (Non-firesale division) just because I hate the F'ing Mets.

Anyone who expects the Phillies to get it together before July just isn't paying attention.

"But can we say the Mets are the 'Worst Defending.National League.Champions.Ever'" I'm with you on that one bird...to paraphrase Chase Utley, the Mets are the "Worst. Defending.National.F***ing.League.Champions.Ever"!

This president is tanking real fast, evidenced by the fact that the talking heads at MSNBC are even trashing him. I watched a Luntz focus group last night, the only people still defending him were the blacks on the panel. Says alot about how divided this country is.

I fondly remember the good old days when a drop in Presidential Approval Ratings warranted front page above the fold Headline. Back in 07 and 08. If I remember correctly it was President George Bush. W I think. 2007 and 2008. I wonder what happened in the editorial meetings that changed that?
