Moment of silence

- If it doesn't already exist, isn't it about time we have a yearly holiday honoring civil servants like firefighters and police?
We should make Labor Day the first responders holiday. Why do we need a holiday celebrating the antiquated idea of unionization which only represents about 12% of the workforce? jmc- jmc, with all due respect, Labor Day celebrates all workers (all of whom are vested with the right to organize in a union whether they do or not), but since percentages obviously mean so much to you, what percentage of the workforce are first responders (many of whom are unionized, by the way)?
Can't this be at least one post that people have enough respect not to politicize it? A moment of silence means SHUT YOUR FRIGGIN MOUTH! savetherepublic
Very nice post Will. Agree with save the republic. Bush3
Not a post for politics. The picture does say it all.
May those that gave all rest in peace. georgel- Very respectful, Mr Bunch. The picture tells a thousand stories of heartache and heroism. RIP to all of the first responders on that terrible day. RIP to all of our civil servants and military who paid the ultimate sacrifice in order to keep our way of life what it is.
Well, maybe the R patriots here will agree that all the heroes - most firefighters and police from all over the country, some EMTs and other professions – who responded to the call for help and volunteered to work at Ground Zero, without pay, in that highly toxic environment that the Bush administration said was safe, should receive free health care from the federal government for life? Waving flags is nice, but honoring heroes is not about photo ops. If you agree with that statement, call or write those creeps you support and demand it. Hamlet
Comment removed.
Hamlet is a politicizing POS. Just can't help yourself. And why don't you back up all your accusations with facts, not letist drivel.
BTW, POS, RIH!!!!!! blackhawk90
Sorry Hamlet, should be "leftist" drivel. Idiots like you make you type too fast. blackhawk90
Did Bush determine on his own that it was safe, or is it possible that he had people advise him on the situation. TKL008
