Maybe if Dick Cheney had taken the threat of terrorism more seriously he would have caught this guy

POSTED: Monday, February 15, 2010, 10:07 PM

In a perfect world, this would shut Dick Cheney up for a few days...but we don't live in a perfect world, unfortunately:

WASHINGTON — The Taliban’s top military commander was captured several days ago in Karachi, Pakistan, in a secret joint operation by Pakistani and American intelligence forces, according to American government officials.

The commander, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, is an Afghan described by American officials as the most significant Taliban figure to be detained since the American-led war in Afghanistan started more than eight years ago. He ranks second in influence only to Mullah Muhammad Omar, the Taliban’s founder and a close associate of Osama bin Laden before the Sept. 11 attacks.

Maybe Cheney should have spent a little less time on his illegal waterboarding fantasies and a little more time shoring up his relations with Pakistan? Just sayin...

I just got the TImes Alert on this and immediately had similar thoughts about Cheney. Let's hope everyone reacts the same as we did. The only good news about Cheney is that he is very unpopular with the American public (down almost at Congressional levels).

Was this guy the #2 guy in Pakistan? Shut Cheney up? LOL! The only thing he cares about is exploiting concerns about security for partisan political gain. How could he do that without incessantly attacking Obama? Credit to Bush, though. He was a lousy ex-president, but thus far he's been a pretty good ex-president by staying above the fray.

Oy. Lousy president but pretty good ex-president.

TPS, Cheney's PR offensive has been motivated by one thing -- keeping himself and his closest associates out of jail for what they did. And it's worked!

Neither he nor his buds were going to jail anyway, Will. Wasn't going to happen. He's just a partisan hack. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Cheney had "other priorities" than catching a real terrorist -- just as during the Vietnam War his "other priorities" made him get five deferrments so he wouldn't have to fight in that war. Oh, yeah, he's a real patriot -- LMAO.

Nothing brings Democrats back into the fold more than seeing Big Dick doing his "Mr. Potter attacking George Bailey" impersonation on TV.

Attyood's "patriots" going nuts downstairs trying to out each other in their bizarre insult-Will contest, but not a post yet on this thread about the capture of a high-ranking terrorist. No doubt, a pretty stark indicator of their priorities.

Maybe Will will bail them out by putting up another post so they can just flat out skip this one.

This is pretty funny -- the first post in Attytood history to silence the conservatives. I have long dreamed of this day :-) .
